Gaither down

Offensive tackle Jared Gaither apparently suffered a neck injury and is being removed from the field on a stretcher. The nature and severity of the injury is unclear, but coach John Harbaugh seemed to be saying "He's okay" as he came off the field. The reverse angle replay showed Gaither's head slamming into the back of quarterback Joe Flacco, who was sandwiched between Gaither and a couple of New England rushers after throwing an incomplete pass. Flacco was not shaken up on the play. Patriots fans gave Gaither an ovation as he was wheeled off the field. I'm sure we'll have an update soon. Instant update: Gaither was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for further evaluation of his neck and shoulder. The team announced he does have movement in all extremities.
