Tottenham star Gareth Bale is reportedly refusing to return to training with the team and has already said his goodbyes to teammates according to Sky Sports. Bale is apparently angry over the way Spurs has handled his likely imminent transfer to Real Madrid, and does not plan to return to the team. A potential world-record transfer of Bale to Real was supposed to be completed over the weekend, but Tottenham failed to finish the deal. Bale was reportedly told to say his goodbyes last week and he did so before flying to Spain for a short vacation. Bale returned to London on Tuesday and found out the deal to send him to Real Madrid had fallen through. The reason? Tottenham was upset that Real had decided to erect a stage that was reportedly going to be used to unveil Bale. Apparently the 24-year-old attacking midfielder wants it known that he still loves Tottenham but is frustrated with how long the transfer has taken. Virtually everyone in the world has known Bale would be headed to Real at some point this summer, but the two sides have been haggling over details for weeks now. Bale plans to keep a low profile until the transfer finally goes through, and that includes not returning to the training ground with Tottenham. The Welsh star has been with Spurs since 2007 and has been the face of the team for the past few seasons, becoming an international superstar in the process. In 203 total appearances with Tottenham, Bale has notched 55 goals. His move to Real Madrid is still expected to be worked out shortly and it could be the first transfer in soccer history to cross the $100 million barrier. Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed that the move will happen before the transfer deadline and managed to take a shot at Bale in the process.
