When the New York Islanders signed Martin Biron to a one year, 1.4 million dollar contract today, many people were left scratching their heads, while many were outraged. Was Garth Snow right in signing Martin Biron? If you actually give it some thought, the answer is: Yes.  Many would liken this duo to the Khabibulin-Huet pairing on Chicago last year, although the Islanders have way less money invested in these two guys. Also, both have the potential to get hot at any time and carry the team for a few games.  Roloson was the MVP of a mediocre Edmonton squad last year, and although he isn't getting any younger at 40 years of age, he can definitely steal a few games for the Isles. Martin Biron was only a shadow of his 2007-2008 self last year, but he is still a capable netminder who comes relatively cheap.
