Little known Brandon Thatch (pictured on right) is MMA’s next big superstar. How do we know? Because UFC welterweight king Georges St-Pierre says so. “I believe Brandon Thatch could be in the UFC right now and I’m pretty sure he’s going to prove it to everyone in his fight [tonight],” St-Pierre said of his training partner. Thatch owns an impressive 8-1 professional record, with all of his wins coming via devastating finish.  ”Rukus” takes his talents to Resurrection Fighting Alliance where he headlines Friday’s show opposite Mike Rhodes. St-Pierre recruited Thatch to help him prepare for last Saturday’s lopsided unanimous decision victory over Nick Diaz at UF 158. It was during their rigorous training sessions where GSP was convinced Thatch was destined for stardom. “I first saw Brandon Thatch before my fight with [Carlos] Condit,” St-Pierre added. “I was impressed. I brought him into my training camp, because I needed a guy who had a similar style. Plus, he can switch left-to-right and was one of the best strikers I could work with. He returned to Montreal and helped me prepare for Nick Diaz and it was good, because we worked really well together. “Brandon and I are close friends now and I love training with him. He brought a lot to my camp and I hope I have brought the same to him as well for his fight.” RFA 7 takes place tonight inside 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. AXS TV broadcasts the main card live beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT.
