Apparently, not everyone is flipping YES! Cartwheels over Ronda Rousey becoming the UFC’s first female fighter. During Thursday’s media workouts, reigning UFC welterweight king Georges St-Pierre (Pictured) admitted watching women’s mixed martial arts is not his cup of tea. “It’s good for her,” St-Pierre said of Rousey’s watershed accomplishment of joining the planet’s premier MMA promotion. “I’m happy for the girls that fight, but me personally, I have a hard time watching the girls fight. “It’s the way I grew up, maybe the mentality is different. I’m old school. I have a hard time watching girls fighting, it’s hard for me. I never really watched a woman fight, but I know they are pretty good. I know Ronda Rousey is very good.” Perhaps GSP should load up his YouTube and get up to speed on the destruction Rousey has caused inside the cage. The “Rowdy” one single-handedly made UFC president Dana White eat his words one year after swearing a female would never set foot inside of his Octagon. Fast-forward several months and White has emerged as her biggest fanboy. He even donned a shirt with Rousey’s ESPN the Magazine cover on it during August’s “UFC on FOX 4” weigh-ins. In any event, everyone is entitled to have an opinion on women’s MMA – including St-Pierre. While he won’t be buying Rousey’s t-shirt anytime soon, it doesn’t mean the French-Canadian doesn’t believe females don’t have the right to earn a living in the same sport that he’s banked millions in. “It’s hard to watch the girls fighting, even though it’s a form of contact sport,” he said in closing. “It’s good for the women and [so they can make] a career.”
