A thrilling welterweight title unification bout between champion Georges St-Pierre (Pictured) and interim champ Carlos Condit headlined Saturday’s UFC 154 pay-per-view broadcast. Betting Line: Favorite (-) Underdog (+) Carlos Condit +250 Georges St-Pierre -350 Here is the play-by-play from ondit vs. St-Pierre : 1stRound: Yves Lavigne is the third man inside the Octagon. St-Pierre takes the center of the ring and is on the attack. He grabs a hold of Condit’s left leg and easily drags him to the canvas. GSP continues to try to pass the full-guard, but is dropping decent punches in the meantime. St-Pierre keeps pulling on the back of Condit’s neck to prevent any surprise submissions. Condit is gushing blood from the right side of his forehead after eating a sharp elbow. 2ndRound: St-Pierre clocks him with a right hand. Condit is clearly not as confident as he was five minutes ago. Condit comes up empty on a flying knee and eats a big right hand for his troubles. Condit throws an arrant kick, St-Pierre catches it and plants him on his back with two minutes remaining. GSP is really targeting that cut now. It’s a bloody mess inside the cage. Condit raises his hands, unfazed by his battered mug. St-Pierre is now cut under his left eye. 3rdRound: Wow! Condit drops GSP with a head kick and pounces. St-Pierre somehow survives the onslaught and gets to his feet. St-Pierre now goes on the attack and tags Condit a couple of times. He picks Condit up and slams him to the mat. Condit fights to his feet, but St-Pierre easily gets him back down. This will be an interesting stanza to score because Condit got the knockdown, but GSP dominated the last half of the round. 4thRound: Condit grazes him with another head kick. St-Pierre brushes it off and gets another takedown. He has four minutes to put in work. Condit is active with punches from the bottom. He attempts a triangle from his back, but St-Pierre powers through and unloads some bombs. Condit gets to his feet. GSP almost gets a takedown, though Condit reverses. St-Pierre scrambles and ends up on top. 5thRound: St-Pierre starts off the final frame with a punch-kick combo. Condit scores with a spinning-back kick to the midsection. St-Pierre landed a brief takedown. St-Pierre clocks him with a right hand. Condit answers with a left of his own. St-Pierre uses some punches to set up a takedown. GSP takes his back for a moment. Official Result: Georges St-Pierre Defeated Carlos Condit via Unanimous Decision (49-46, 50-45, 50-45) (St-Pierre unifies UFC welterweight title)
