Beyond The Buzzer:
The Pacers are putting on a dunk show in Indiana on Wednesday night. After Roy Hibbert demolished Ivan Johnson, Gerald Green one-upped his teammate with a driving dunk all over Josh Smith, which may be the best dunk of the playoffs thus far:
BEST OF MAXIM
Indiana Pacers forward Gerald Green drove from the three point line and threw down a powerful jam over Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith that brought the Bankers Life Fieldhouse crowd to their feet during the second quarter of Wednesday night's Game 2 of their NBA Eastern Conference first round playoff game.
Green came off the bench for 15 points to help the Pacers to a 113...
ROCK THE RIM
Clearly, there is something in the water in Indiana as this is our second amazing slam dunk that we are posting from game two of the Atlanta Hawks/Indiana Pacers playoff series. This dunk happened in the second quarter as Gerald Green rises for an epic slam dunk over Josh Smith: *** Gerald Green dunks on Josh Smith [@CJZero]
Last night’s Game 2 between the Pacers and the Hawks was relegated to NBA TV. So those with basic cable missed this David West-to-Gerald Green Hail Mary at the end of the third quarter.
That play gave the Pacers an 88-76 lead. Indiana held on to beat Atlanta 113-98, taking a 2-0 series lead, in a game that featured several poster-worthy dunks, including this Roy Hibbert-over-Ivan...
Did that really just happen?
Reminiscent of Doug Flutie’s hail mary pass back in ’84, Indian Pacer David West channeled his inner quarterback to connect with Gerald Green on a nice end-to-end lob for the uncontested basket in the 3rd quarter during tonight’s Hawks-Pacers matchup (which the Pacers ended up winning 113-98 to lead the series 2-0).
That said, do yourself a favor...
Move aside Geno Smith and Ryan Nassib. Pacers forward David West showed off his throwing arm by hitting Gerald Green on a buzzer-beating touchdown pass to finish the third quarter of Game Two of the Hawks-Packers series.
With the eighth pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills select David West, Xavier University.
The Indiana Pacers cruised past the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday to take a 2-0 lead in their Eastern Conference playoff series.
Paul George had another strong showing for Indiana scoring a career playoff high 27 points.
George was named the NBA’s most improved player of the season and he came through for the Pacers yet again.
As strong as George’s night was, Roy Hibbert had...
Roy Hibbert took what was his on Wednesday night during the Pacers vs. Hawks playoff game, completely owning every big of Ivan Johnson.
The Pacers took a commanding 2-0 lead against the Hawks last night with a 113-98 win in Indiana and aside from the game being a blowout, Roy Hibbert added some insult to injury to Ivan Johnson early in the first quarter.
You knew it was not going to be the Hawks night when Hibbert came flying at the rim to send down a vicious dunk all over Johnson.
But give credit to Johnson...
That scuffle between the Warriors and Pacers in February, for all the wrong reasons, was one of the more enjoyable moments of Golden State’s season thus far. To jog your memory, Roy Hibbert and David Lee got involved in a shoving contest, Hibbert went Incredible Hulk on Steph Curry, and Mychal Thomspon clowned his son.
For their efforts in igniting the fracas, Lee and Hibbert...
Sometimes, NBA players just need to learn how to get out of the way and Hawks reserve forward Ivan Johnson will probably learn his lesson after he got posterized by Pacers center Roy Hibbert.
It happened in the first quarter of play in game two of the Pacers/Atlanta Hawks series and well, I’ll let the dunk do the rest of the talking:
Hibbert throws down monster dunk on Ivan...
Roy Hibbert completely destroyed Ivan Johnson on this dunk on Wednesday night during the Pacers vs Hawks playoff game.
Pacers Roy Hibbert put Hawks Ivan Johnson on a poster during the first half of Game 2 in Indiana on Wednesday night. Hibbert elevated for the one-handed power slam as Johnson attempted to draw a charge – but instead got called for the foul and was put on a nasty poster:
Not only did the Pacers take a 2-0 lead in their playoff series against the Hawks, they also served up two ridiculous facials. The first - Roy Hibbert on Ivan Johnson:
