The West London side have farmed out the 19-year-old central-defender to English lower-tier side Colchester United to gain regular first team action. Pappoe captained Chelsea’s U21 side last season and helped them to reach the semi-finals of the NextGen Series in Italy. He was hoping to gatecrash Jose Mourinho’s first team squad but the competitiveness of the Portuguese’s defence ruled him for a place in the pre-season squad.
