Pro Sports Daily:
Thursday night may or may not have been the last sighting of Tim Tebow in an NFL uniform but it is at least a strong possibility.
The Patriots preseason finale against the Giants at Gillette Stadium â a 28-20 New England win â represented a last stand of sorts for Tebow and as he always seems to do he left a confounding impression. Tebow was underwhelming for most of the night but threw in a dash of promise â like a golfer who couldnât make a par for 16 holes and birdied the last two.
Tebow relieved Tom Bradyâs backup Ryan Mallett (who started the game) in the second half and finished the game completing 6-of-11 passes for 81 yards with two touchdowns an interception and 30 rushing yards on six attempts.
After looking shaky on his first three series failing to move the offense while being sacked four times Tebow gave the Patriots a 21-20 lead with a 52-yard scoring pass to Quentin Sims 2 minutes 34 seconds into the fourth quarter.
That scoring pass proved to be the game-winner.
BEST OF MAXIM
Tim Tebow showed promise during his short tenure with the Patriots, but New England ultimately decided to let the quarterback go Saturday afternoon.
After making it through one cut, the 26-year-old couldnât survive the final roster trimming before the regular season gets underway. Tebow Time was short-lived in Boston, but should it have been?
In the past, the Pats have only employed...
A person familiar with the situation says Tim Tebow has been cut by the New England Patriots.
After being let go by his third team in 18 months - and with the regular season just five days away - the quarterback's chances of immediately catching on with another team seem slim. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Patriots had not announced the move. It was...
Tim Tebow was given the second half of New Englandâs final preseason game against the Giants on Thursday in what maybe/possibly/probably not his last appearance as a Patriot. His night had some ups and some downs, but since itâs the almighty Tim Tebow weâll be focusing on the good here in this post.
As you can see above, Tebow connected on a52-yard touchdown pass to receiver...
Tim Tebow is done with the New England Patriots. The next question is whether his NFL career is over too.
The Patriots waived Tebow on Saturday morning ESPN reported.
Tebow 26 signed a two-year contract with the Patriots in June that included no guarantees. In three preseason appearances he was 11-of-30 passing for 145 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
(Eds: With AP Photos.) By TIM DAHLBERG AP Sports Columnist There wasn't much reason to dislike Tim Tebow, who never pretended to be anything he wasn't. Blame him for the Tebowing craze, if you will, but even that was worth a few laughs in a league that doesn't always embrace fun.
There wasn't much reason to like him as an NFL quarterback, either. Three teams tried...
Texas A&M will be without its quarterback for the first half of Saturday's season opener against the Rice Owls, but that is not going to stop the Aggie QB from trying to do his part to help the team out (hey--a little prayer never hurts anyone, right?).
The big question may be this--now that Tim Tebow has been cut by the New England Patriots and likely done in the NFL...
From ESPN: âThe New England Patriots have released polarizing quarterback Tim Tebow, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Tebow, who signed with the Patriots in June, struggled to find consistency throughout the preseason. He never seriously threatened Ryan Mallett for the backup job behind Tom Brady.â
The New England Patriots could care less...
The Patriots will release quarterback Tim Tebow on Saturday, FOX
Sports NFL Insider Mike Garafolo confirms.
It is like Tebow has some sort of cult like hold over Robert Kraft.
âIâm rooting for him big time,â Kraft told reporters prior to the Patriotsâ annual kickoff gala. âIâm in his corner, but I have the privilege of letting Bill make those decisions. He has a pretty good record doing it.â
Not like this was a surprise, but at least Kraft was rooting for him? Timmy Tebow has officially been released by the New England Patriots today.

NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock made an embarrassing blunder when he somehow mistakenly referred to New England Patriots quarterback Tim Tebow as Peyton Manning during the fourth quarter of Thursday night's NFL preseason game in Foxboro.
It happened after Tebow underthrew a pass which was intercepted by the New York Giants. Mayock summed up the play as "a very...
Robert Kraft has learned not to meddle when it comes to roster decisions. But that doesnât mean he wonât be lobbying Bill Belichick if thereâs a player or two heâd like to see make the cut, such as a certain Tim Tebow.
Tebowâs time as a Patriot may be close to ending as New England trims its roster down to its final 53 players. While some people think Tebow has a future...
Five veterans on the bubble tonight--cover32: Latest on cover32:
1. Jermaine Cunningham
The 25-year-old vet out of Florida has had little to no impact on the Patriots since being drafted in the second round of the 2010 draft. Cunningham has played in a total of 27 games for the Patriots while, recording just 3.5 sacks.
Cunningham projected as a reliable pass-rush option at the next...
