Madison Bumgarner struck out eleven over seven innings as the San Francisco Giants won 10-1 over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday afternoon. The Giants’ offense started early with a home run from Pablo Sandoval in the first inning. Sandoval is batting .315 with 5 home runs and 25 RBI on the season but needed to take a moment in the fifth inning after being hit in the wrist by a pitch from Paul Maholm. Manager Bruce Bochy said the x-ray showed he’d be fine, but he’s still a little concerned because of the area of injury and will check in on him tomorrow. Two big four-run innings put the game away for the Giants, who had extra bases in eight of their 14 hits. Gregor Blanco had a career-high four RBI on Saturday, three from a pinch-hit double in the eighth. Blanco said he didn’t do any stretching or warmups in the cage before his RBI triple. “Torres [asked me] ‘what’d you do?’ I said nothing. ‘Well, you better do that,’” Blanco said. Bochy said Blanco will be in the lineup tomorrow. The ...

Vogelsong is scaring people

Welp. Ryan Vogelsong still isn't right. It was another one of those starts on Thursday against Atlanta. You know, the one where he seems kinda okay through a few innings and then Bochy leaves him in 3 hitters too long and by that time he's given up 5 or 6 runs, and then he gets chainsaw angry, but it's too late, and we can't come back that one night? *Big inhale...

San Francisco Giants: Is It Too Early To Re-Sign Hunter Pence?

Hunter Pence is top-three is nearly every significant offensive statistical category for the San Francisco Giants this season, and it is not farfetched to start thinking about re-signing the 30-year-old. Pence was a large part of the Giants’ 2012 World Series title, even though he hit just .210 with four RBI in last year’s postseason. His pregame speeches were legendary in themselves...

Braves Leave Everything But Heart in San Francisco

Some like to look at these early season match-ups between first place teams as potential playoff clashes later in the year. If that's the case, then the Atlanta Braves had best hope the San Francisco Giants go into a tailspin before October arrives. In losing the four-game series to the defending World Champs, the Braves managed only four runs and 14 hits in the final three games, coming
