Found May 07, 2013 on Hockey Fan Land:
As it stands now, the Vancouver Canucks will likely be the first team eliminated from the 2013 NHL playoffs. I would not be surprised if the San Jose Sharks complete the series sweep tonight.  the focal point in Vancouver has the goaltending duo of Cory Schneider and Roberto Luongo. However, Goaltending not is he issue for Vancouver Canucks.Vancouver's primary problem is secondary - scoring. the only task a team has to take care of when facing the Vancouver Canucks is shut down the twins,  Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin, if you do that you win the series, because nobody else has done anything, outside of two goals provided by Ryan Kesler. Vancouver has gotten little beyond them for two postseasons now, including lengthy droughts for Mason Raymond, Jannik Hansen and Chris Higgins, while NHL Trade Deadline acquisition Derek Roy has been mostly invisible.Who you put between the pipes does not matter if they are not receiving goal support. you need to get maximum production out of y...

Barry, the Sedins' agent, confirmed Wednesday the twins will play for their homeland at the tournament. Preparing The Canucks For The Future

from Tony Gallagher of the Vancouver Province, When next season begins, the Vancouver Canucks will once again be a strong contender to make the playoffs — and if things go well, perhaps even challenge for the lead at times in their newly realigned environment. They’ll still have outstanding goaltending, and a decent back end, and general manager Mike Gillis will have...

NHL game puts pizza order in disarray

Friday night was a tough one for one pizza-loving Vancouver Canucks fan, whose pick-up order for a rally snack during the Canucks' Game 2 meeting with San Jose quickly became a pie that called for delivery, before ultimately arriving at his door as a somber reminder of another game gone wrong. The story starts with this tweet of a receipt reportedly showing the details of what...

Major changes loom for Canucks

Major changes loom after the Vancouver Canucks, who came within a victory of winning the Stanley Cup two years ago, bowed out early for the second consecutive spring. Management is trying to figure out what went wrong in the playoffs for a team that viewed itself as a strong contender, but never approached its target. Instead, the Canucks were swept by San Jose in the opening round...

Canucks fan changed pizza pick-up plan to delivery because game was tied

The Vancouver Canucks have already put themselves on the brink of elimination with a blowout loss to the San Jose Sharks on Sunday night. They are currently trailing 3-0 in the series, but things didn’t always look so grim. During Game 2 on Friday night, Vancouver fans briefly had their spirits lifted when Ryan Kesler scored in the third period to tie the game. Prior to that, the...

In sin bin, Canucks defenseman Kevin Bieksa ridiculed by Sharks fans (video)

The San Jose Sharks mercifully ended the season for the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night, completing the series sweep courtesy of a 4-3 overtime victory in front of the hometown fans at HP Pavilion. And while the game was not without controversy — a controversial boarding penalty called on Daniel Sedin (his brother Henrik called the penalty “bulls**t”) led to Patrick Marleau’s...

Time to drop plunger on Vancouver Canucks?

Barring a miraculous comeback, the Vancouver Canucks will exit the NHL playoffs during the first round. That could trigger serious changes in the Pacific Northwest. The Canucks sent off warning flares while losing their first three games to the San Jose Sharks, including a 5-2 debacle Sunday. Could a move or two vault this squad back to Stanley Cup contention?  Or has the time come...

Vancouver Canucks fan changes pizza order because of game (Picture)

The one thing that I do know about sports fans is that when the games are going on, there are very few things that will prevent them for turning away from the action. Check out this receipt from a Vancouver, Canada pizza place that had an order changed from a pick-up to a delivery because of Canucks/Sharks playoff game: (Courtesy of Deadspin)

Henrik Sedin Butt-Ends Logan Couture After Faceoff in Sharks’ Game 3 Win (Animation)

The Vancouver Canucks are one game from being eliminated in the first round for the second consecutive year. Apparently, frustration is starting to set in. Vancouver captain Henrik Sedin, who has a reputation of being a squeaky-clean player, may have crossed a line in Game 3 on Sunday night against San Jose. The Canucks forward appeared to catch Sharks forward Logan Couture with...

Being A Bruins Fan: Celebrating The Demise Of The Canucks In Pictures (PHOTOS)

Ever since the Vancouver Canucks and their fans christened themselves Stanley Cup champions after Game TWO, Bruins fans (and most of the hockey loving world) revel annually in their demise. Looks like the Canucks have been psychologically damaged by the Bruins in 2011. Vancouver has only won TWO playoff game since going up 2-0 in the Cup Final. They lost to the Bruins 4 games to...

Canucks Are Done

from Cam Cole of the Vancouver Sun, Cory Schneider's "body injury" has healed. His other wounds, apparently not. And worst of all, his goal-scoring drought continues. Schneider, re-inserted as the starting goalie for Game 3 by coach Alain Vigneault for no other reason than because he thought it was the right thing to do, was lit up for three early third...

Bieksa accuses Sharks of embellishment

"Whether you think we’re embellishers or not doesn’t take away the fact those 2 guys are doing it as well. Forget about the past." - Bieksa — Mark Spector (@SportsnetSpec) May 6, 2013 This is funny stuff, apparently, Vancouver Canucks Defenseman Kevin Bieksa is accusing the San Jose Sharks of embellishing and head snapping. You can't make this stuff up...

Vancouver heads home, has numerous questions to address

The Vancouver Canucks were swept out of the playoffs by the San Jose Sharks, earning the unfortunate distinction of being the first team sent home from the 2013 postseason. The Sharks completed the sweep with a 4-3 win in OT on Tuesday night, earning the squad a spot in the second round. Vancouver's season ends almost exactly as it began with fans questioning the team'...
