PLAYERS: Jeff Gordon
Just when you thought Jeff Gordon's mustache was just a bad memory from his 1993 rookie season in Cup . . . it's back. "So as many of u may have heard, I made a statement that if we made the Chase I wud bring back the stache," Gordon tweeted Sunday. "I'm a man of my word." Certainly, even a four-time NASCAR champion can enjoy a second childhood. And chances are that Gordon is feeling reborn after his dramatic comeback at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday night that earned him the final transfer spot in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Gordon qualified second and recovered from 27th to finish second, prompting him to acknowledge, "I felt like I won the race tonight." Maybe the 'stache might be less dangerous than other mid-life crisis activities - even for a race car driver. But if it makes Gordon feel as if he's 21 again for the final 10 races in the Chase, it will have all been worth it.
