MINNEAPOLIS No Gophers were selected in this year's NFL Draft, but two former University of Minnesota players inked contracts Saturday night as undrafted free agents. Quarterback MarQueis Gray signed with the San Francisco 49ers, while cornerback Troy Stoudermire will join the Cincinnati Bengals, according to both players' Twitter accounts. Gray was a two-year starter at quarterback for the Gophers after spending his first two seasons at wide receiver. He eventually transitioned back to the wide receiver role midway through his senior year after an injury sidelined him. As a senior, Gray completed 34-of-59 passes for 472 yards and five touchdowns. He also caught 12 passes for 121 yards as a receiver. As a junior, Gray completed 50.7 percent of his passes (108-for-213) for 1,495 yards, eight touchdowns and eight interceptions. While he likely won't translate to a quarterback at the next level, it remains to be seen what position the 6-foot-4, 250-pound Gray will play if he hopes to stick around in the NFL. Tight end may be his best bet. Stoudermire was given a medical redshirt and a fifth year of eligibility after suffering an injury during the 2011 season. During his senior year, the 5-foot-10, 195-pound Stoudermire led the Gophers in tackles with 82. He also returned 22 kicks for 513 yards as a senior and became the Big Ten's all-time leading kick returner. Follow Tyler Mason on Twitter.
