Michigan linebacker commit Michael Ferns recently opened a recruiting letter from Mississippi State that he had forgotten about and this is what was inside. If you remember, Ferns also received a letter from the Bulldogs coaching staff that said “YOU’RE A BALLER” on the inside and nothing else. The season is still weeks away, which is something Dan Mullen reminded himself of often Thursday morning. He was observing Mississippi State’s first scrimmage of August, and the results were mixed. Not terrible, maybe not even too bad all aspects considered. Still, “I’m disappointed,” Mullen said, “in what normally happens in first scrimmage.”

Green, considered a long time Mississippi State lean, informed the Bulldog coaching staff yesterday of his intentions of announcing his verbal pledge to Mississippi State today.
