Green Bay Packers WR Greg Jennings continued to discuss his future with the team. Jennings was asked whether or not he plans on being back with the team next season. “Will I be here? That’s totally up to the Packers,” responded Jennings, via NFL.com. “I know one way I don’t want to be here is under a franchise tag.” Jennings, 29, is set to become an unrestricted free agent following the season and the Packers haven’t made any attempt to discuss a long-term deal with him during the season. Considering how they’ve handled impending free agents in the past like Scott Wells and Cullen Jenkins, the tea leaves would suggest that they are more comfortable investing their funds elsewhere, but that doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t consider tagging Jennings during the offseason. Green Bay has some obvious players to address in the coming years, e.g. Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews and B.J. Raji, but that doesn’t mean that they couldn’t free up addition cash to retain Jennings. There have already been reports that TE Jermichael Finley could be released after the season and the Packers could always ask A.J. Hawk and Charles Woodson to restructure their contracts, so the franchise tag actually seems like a possibility. We have Jennings listed as the No. 7 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.   Impending free agent Greg Jennings said he doesn’t want to return to the Packers under the franchise tag. Jennings will turn 30 in September and is looking for one last long-term deal. The franchise tag is a one-year tender. “Will I be here? That’s totally up to the Packers,” he said. Jennings and the Packers have not had any contract extension talks yet. It’s very possible they’ll play hardball and end up with Jordy Nelson, James Jones and Randall Cobb as their top-three wideouts in 2013.
