CINCINNATI (AP) -- Bengals receiver Andrew Hawkins is expected to miss the last two preseason games because of a sprained ankle, leaving him a candidate to wind up on injured reserve.
Hawkins sprained his left ankle while trying to make a catch on Aug. 1, and it was placed in a cast. Coach Marvin Lewis says Tuesday that Hawkins will get the cast off this week so the ankle can be examined and he can start therapy, But he'll be in a protective boot for a couple of weeks so that he doesn't aggravate the injury.
Teams can designate one player on injured reserve during the preseason who may return during the season once healthy. Last year, center Kyle Cook returned from an ankle injury after missing the first 12 games.

Hard Knocks is really good television, by the way.
So is Harrison.

In the most recent episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” Cincinnati Bengals running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis received some special treatment from team owner Mike Brown. Brown wheeled the Lawfirm into practice on his golf cart, leading Green-Ellis to place his hand upon the owner’s knee as a gesture of endearment. Head coach Marvin Lewis instantly began […]
Bengals QB Andy Dalton isn’t really known for his humorous side. You may get a small joke here or there but nothing that would bring you to tears funny. At least we haven’t seen anything on HBO’s Hard Knocks just yet. However, Bleacher Report is reporting a different side to the QB in his new Pepsi commercial.
