This is from the Texas Tech 24/7 site. How serious and factual is it? Probably quite a bit. It details some of the circumstances from Tommy Tuberville's side of things when the former Texas Tech coach got the call from Cincinnati. This comes from Devonte Danzey, a junior college offensive lineman who was visiting Texas Tech last weekend. Part of the reason people move so fast on coaching hires this time of year is because it's recruiting season.  The group of recruits and Texas Tech coaches were at dinner. That's when things allegedly got weird.  “The waitress brought our food out, and we thought (Tuberville) went to the bathroom, but he never came back to dinner. Then next thing I know, the next day, he made an announcement that he’s going to Cincinnati.” The article says that a Texas Tech spokesman confirmed the dinner, but not the incidents that happened at dinner. The story is worth reading if you have a few minutes. It goes on to say that Tuberville was supposed to meet recruits for a tour of the Texas Tech campus on Saturday morning. We all know what happened Saturday morning.  I share this story and find it interesting for a couple of reasons. None of which are that I think Tommy Tuberville is terrible and I hate him. Those opinions the other day were from Matt Zemek, not me. We rarely see the other side of what's happening in situations like these. We know that Whit Babock and Dr Ono are making calls and trying to lock down interviews. We know that Whit reached out to Tuberville before Butch Jones' seat had gone cold. We didn't know what was happening at Texas Tech at the time. To hear the story of one recruit is very interesting. As we found out with all the Butch Jones rumors, the players and recruits know just as much as we do. And that's not a lot!  The second reason is that I thought it was interesting and thought you guys would like it too. That should have been the first reason. Then it wouldn't be it's own paragraph that I am trying to fill with words because it is really short and I have nothing else to add besides I thought it was interesting and I thought you guys would like it. Now that we have buffed this up to a couple of sentences, I think it's cool to find a way to end this piece.
