ARLINGTON, Texas For a team that's as beat up as the Texas Rangers are, Monday was a nice change of events.
The Rangers actually got some good news on the injury front.
Ian Kinsler was in the field working with Texas manager Ron Washington for the first time since he went on the disabled list May 19. Mitch Moreland, who is out with a right strained hamstring, feels like his...

ARLINGTON, Texas After his first major league start didn't go so well, Josh Lindblom had a talk with Greg Maddux, the special assistant to the GM for the Rangers who also happens to own four Cy Youngs.
That talk helped Lindblom grind through a rough inning in his second chance with the Rangers.
Lindblom gave up a three-run double in the third inning against Cleveland, then...
ARLINGTON, Texas Lance Berkman has been around baseball long enough to now that he would get another big hit sooner or later.
It was still sweet for him to actually get one though.
Berkman's two-run homer Monday broke a 3-3 tie with Cleveland Monday night and helped spark the Rangers to a 6-3 win to open an 11-game homestand. The club has now won consecutive games for the...
For those Rangers fans who've daydreamed about not seeing Ian Kinsler's upper-cut swing on a daily basis, this is what it looks like. This team received more bad news in the form of another DL-stint for starting pitcher Alexi Ogando over the weekend, but the reason the Rangers' recent slide is all about the bats.
We knew the Rangers would have to win games in a different...
ARLINGTON, Texas Texas manager Ron Washington said Wednesday night that an opponent scoring five runs against the Rangers usually isn't a bad thing.
It is these days.
Cleveland scored five runs off starter Nick Tepesch and that was more than enough offense as the Indians won the series with a 5-2 victory over the Rangers.
Texas has scored just 36 runs in its 11 June games...
Texas Rangers second baseman and leadoff hitter Ian Kinsler has been cleared to begin a rehabilitation assignment.

A busted pipe under the infield at Rangers Ballpark has created a sinkhole right behind the pitcher's mound.
On-field batting practice was canceled for both the Texas Rangers and Cleveland Indians while workers tried to fix the problem 2 1/2 hours before Tuesday night's scheduled game.
Rangers officials expect the problem to be fixed in time to play the game.
We always want to call these things early in the season, but after 13 starts, a 7-2 record, a 2.75 ERA, coming within a batter of a perfect game, and a MLB leading 118 strikeouts (including five game with 10+) it may be safe to make the call.
Yu Darvish is not going to have a sophomore slump--and the fans are loving it! Many of the 40,000+ that made Tuesday's game against...
