The Slanch Report:
Just because you're an Olympian doesn't mean that you're immune to being star-struck. As the games creep closer and more and more athletes make their way to their quarters in the Olympic Village some athletes, stars in their own right, find themselves eager to meet the even bigger names around them.
Australian star swimmer (and Slanch crush—see here
) Stephanie Rice is no exception to this; despite holding five world records and being one of swimming's biggest stars she still gets excited to get a photo with someone even more famous, like Kobe Bryant.
I just hope that's the LAST contact between the two. She's way too good for Kobe.

You think Kobe Bryant has backed off his widely discussed and controversial belief that the current U.S. Olympic hoops team would beat the 1992 Dream Team? Think again. After all, this is Kobe Bryant we’re talking about.
The debate that seemingly doesn’t want to go away was revived again on Saturday in Spain when Kobe was asked if he’s reconsidered his stance.
The USA men's Olympic basketball team is littered with talent from wall to wall. So much so that team leader Kobe Bryant said that members of the USA team should have their citizenship revoked, should they return home from London with anything less than gold. Things in Lakerland appear to be brightening up. Keystone Light connoisseur Steve Nash is now handling the point. It’s apparently still not out of the question for Dwight Howard to join the team. And now Kobe Bryant is lending his support behind the beleaguered Pau Gasol.
After a markedly disappointing regular season and playoffs, Gasol became the scapegoat by many for the Lakers’...
Kobe Bryant and Mark Cuban do not agree when it comes to the Olympics. As you probably know, Cuban is the most enthusiastic Olympic hater in sports. He roots for Team USA to fail because he feels that the concept of allowing players who are under contract with NBA teams to risk injury in international competition is incredibly dumb. David Stern obviously agrees with Cuban in some...
They carry cameras and microphones, sprinting toward Kobe Bryant like Christmas shoppers who just spotted the ''it'' gift sitting on shelves.
Their questions come quickly, some in English, many in Spanish, and Bryant gives the perfect answer every time.
Yes, Spain is an incredible team that can pose problems for the U.S.
No, Pau Gasol isn't getting traded from...
During a Team USA media session in Barcelona, Kobe Bryant was asked about his Laker teammate and Spanish team player, Pau Gasol. After Pau’s flame out in the 2011 playoffs and the spectator of being traded at any moment throughout the 11-12 season, Kobe seems to have decided Pau isn’t going anywhere. Kobe, answering a [...]
While preparing for the 2012 Olympic games and answering questions from a Spanish reporter, Kobe Bryant endorses Pau Gasol… Finally.

Kobe Bryant said “As long as I’m there (with the Lakers), he’s (Pau Gasol) going to be there.” Pau Gasol saw the news and went out of his way to Tweet about his all-star teammate, thanking him for the kind words...
Kobe Bryant was asked on Saturday about Pau Gasol's future with the Lakers.
July 18: Team USA has landed in Manchester for tomorrow’s friendly matchup with Great Britain. Melo and Tyson were spotted hanging out with teammates Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant on their way to support the Women’s Olympic team who play Great Britain today.
