In terms of classic rap songs with NBA references, Ice Cube’s “It Was A Good Day” has one of the most notable lyric that mentioned the “Lakers beat the Supersonics”.
Last night, Ice Cube performed a stripped-down version of the hit and when the song came to the Supersonics lyric, he decided to drop a “What Happened To The Supersonics?” instead:
Hopefully, when the Sonics returns, they’ll bring Ice Cube to opening night.
