Minor League Baseball is about immersing their patrons in the quintessential baseball experience. Fortunately for the patrons, that means making incredible eats to be enjoyed from the seats. MiLB.com is holding a fan vote to decide which ballpark concession is tops in the land. The vote is broken down into four categories, Gut Busters, Hogs ‘N’ Dogs, Scrumptious Sandwiches, and Local Legends. Here are some of the highlights: Behold, The Homewrecker. This behemoth can be found at Lake Elsinore Diamond, home of the Lake Elsinore Storm of the California League. Over in North Carolina. the wonderful people of the Durham Bulls gave their fans a gift on Opening Day, 2013. The Nuke Dog. This Carolina Packers Red Hot Dog honors the 25th anniversary of the release of Bull Durham. It is named for the film’s antagonist Ebby Calvin “Nuke” LaLoosh, an enigmatic young fireballer with the attitude of an 11-year-old. The Missoula Osprey offered their Bats And Balls dish up for the contest. This local favorite features a staple in Montanan Cuisine, Rocky Mountain Oysters. If you are wondering what a Rocky Mountain Oyster is, they are explained politely as “Deep-fried bull calf testicles that are peeled, coated in flour, pepper and salt, and pounded flat.” Fans can vote on MiLB.com or by using the hashtag #FoodFight.
