Andres Iniesta has promised Spain will not go easy on Confederations Cup minnows Tahiti when the two teams meet at the Maracana. After Nigeria thrashed the Oceania champions 6-1 in their opening game, the talk in the build-up to this fixture has not been about whether world and European champions Spain will get the three points, but how many goals they will win by. However, Barcelona midfielder Iniesta insists his team-mates will approach the game like any other, regardless of the obvious gulf between the two sides. "The best way of respecting your opponents is by playing as well as you can and not relaxing," he told a press conference. "We're just think about competing and winning, not in the goals we are going to score. "We'll play against Tahiti with respect and with the aim of getting the points that will almost guarantee qualification (for the semi-finals). "There's no other objective. We don't think about how many goals we're going to score, we respect Tahiti. We aren't thinking about thrashing them." However, Iniesta admitted they feel an extra sense of responsibility to play well against Tahiti because the match will take place in the historical Maracana stadium. "It is a privilege to play in Brazil and in the Maracana," he said. "We will try and do a good job and win. "It's beautiful for us that people in Brazil like the way we play football. The praise we have received in this country means a lot and we hope we can respond to it. "We don't just play for ourselves, we also play for the fans who admire us and follow us, who feel that we represent them, so we have a big responsibility."
