A week after falling into the “same old Chargers” trap, Mike McCoy's troops showed this is a new era of San Diego football. Philip Rivers threw for 419 yards and three scores and Nick Novak's fourth field goal capped a fourth-quarter rally as the Chargers stunned the Eagles, 33-30. Here is a looked at what worked, what didn't and what's next for San Diego.
BEST OF MAXIM
San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers gets into words with Philadelphia defensive lineman Fletcher Cox and then flops so obviously he embarrasses himself.
Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers has seven touchdowns after two weeks.Fantasy Spin:He threw three scores and had 419 yards on 36-of-47 passing Sunday at Philadelphia. After two straight disappointing seasons, Rivers appears to be back on the fantasy radar now that Mike McCoy is heading up this operation instead of Norv Turner.
Any football fan -- any American, really -- knows the names of the greatest quarterbacks in the NFL: the Tom Bradys, the Peyton Mannings, the Aaron Rodgers and so on. These men are full-blown cultural icons; they are established, in both the sense of endorsements and extracurricular activity as well as the sense of football. But any football fan will also be able to name another...
I actually don’t have a problem with this. Shake hands after the game. See the GIF below:

If the San Diego Chargers beat winless Jacksonville on Sunday, they'll be above .500 for the first time this season.
That's a big deal for a team that looked so dismal in a loss at Oakland before using a methodical, balanced offense to beat Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts 19-9 Monday night.
Now the Chargers (3-3) will try to win consecutive games for the first time...
The Tennessee Titans will travel to Reliant Stadium as they try to keep their upset trend going. Houston showed last week that it doesn’t lay down, overcoming a 21 point deficit to defeat Philip Rivers and his Chargers with a last gasp field goal. The Titans on the other hand, leant on their strong defensive [...]
After a Bizarro Week 2 around the NFL in which three of the top six fantasy scorers were under 50% owned, this weeks waiver wire will be a free-for-all of Ted Nugent proportions. There’s also more than a few injury concerns coming out of the week (Steven Jackson, Eddie Lacy, MJD, Ray Rice) to go along with players seeing their stock rise (Giovani Bernard, Knowshon Moreno, Eddie...
Week two on the fantasy football waiver wire presents some intriguing options. Wide receivers continue to dominate the fantasy points and there are a couple of interesting possibilities out there as well as a couple of familiar names at QB.
Aaron Rodgers, Michael Vick and Philip Rivers each passed for at least 400 yards and did not throw an interception today. That is the most such performances in a week in NFL history.
After the best and most exhilerating week one to date, week two of the 2013 season was sure to not be outdone on excitement. From upsets to last second wins, each game had a reason to tune in. Mike Wallace had the breakout performance he was hoping for while Mike Vick and the Eagles got stunned by Philip Rivers and his Chargers. Did Minnesota's Adrian Peterson do enough to...
New week, new names. Let’s get right to it.
Philip Rivers, Chargers
New offensive system seems to working for Rivers and the Chargers’ passing game so far.
Sam Bradford, Rams
Is this finally the year?!? I’m so excited. #teamsambradford
Ryan Tannehill, Dolphins
Posting solid numbers. Consider as a bye week starter only, still.
James Starks, Packers...
The good news is the Eagles scored 30 points and left maybe a dozen more on the table...
The bad news is the Eagles gave up 33...
The Eagles' defense will be under fire today. But truth be told, we already knew that area of combat was our weakest point.
I would like to point the finger more at the offense, who you would be advised to acknowledge has got to do a...
The San Diego Chargers' win over the Philadelphia Eagles wasn't as costly as they had feared.
Wide receiver Malcom Floyd, who suffered a neck injury in the second half, isn't expected to be available Sunday when the Chargers face the Tennessee Titans. But he might have avoided a more debilitating injury.
''It's unlikely that he will play this week,'...
Time to hop on the waiver wire if you need to fill some position holes on your team.
Eddie Royal, WR, San Diego Chargers – Well there is definitely some magic between Royal and QB Philip Rivers. After surprising everyone with 2 TDs in week 1 vs. Houston, Royal impressed even further with an even better performance in week 2 against Philadelphia, grabbing 7 catches for...
