The Iranian government has sent an official letter of protest to Major League Baseball and the Boston Red Sox over what it describes as “racist numbering practices.”
“Anyone with eyes can see what the Red Sox are up to,” writes the Iranian state news agency. “Any time Jed Lowrie bats behind Kevin Youkilis, or as often happens in the slutty American pasttime, any time Lowrie lets Youkilis ride on his shoulders, the Red Sox are sending a clear message ‘Zion.’ Everyone knows 2 = Z, 1 = I, 0 = O, and another 2 = an N on its side.”
The Iranian government says it plans to cancel its season tickets to Fenway, ban the singing of Sweet Caroline anywhere...
