So for the first time in roughly 15 years, the Yankees are irrelevant.With just 2+ weeks of the season remaining, the Yankees have no chance of winning the division, the wild card or anything. Hell, they may (probably?) finish the season in 4th place.The 2008 season is over.Now, the only thing I have left, is to root for individual accomplishments. Mike Mussina, for example, is 3 wins away from getting 20 for the first time in his career. He has a start today, and he will get 2 maybe 3 more additional starts before 2008 comes to a close. I REALLY want him to get those 20 wins. Apparently, this season made people all of a sudden think Mike Mussina is a HOF pitcher as if he wasn't one prior to 2008.I also want to see Derek Jeter not only get his average above .300 after struggling for much of the season, but he is only 9 hits away from being the Yankee Stadium all time hits leader.
