The Auburn Tigers were looking for some more depth on the low post, and they found that on Saturday.
AUBURN – Spencer Turnbull threw Alabama’s first complete-game shutout in two years, leading the Crimson Tide to a 2-0 win over the Auburn Tigers in front of 3,911 fans at Plainsman Park on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, Alabama wins the Southeastern Conference series to improve to 18-11 overall and 7-2 in conference play. Auburn falls to 16-12 overall and 1-8 in SEC play.
AUBURN – The Alabama baseball team tried to mount a late inning rally, but came up short as the Crimson Tide dropped the second game of a Southeastern Conference series, 6-3, to the Auburn Tigers on Friday night from Plainsman Park. With the loss, Alabama falls to 17-11 overall and 6-2 in SEC play, while the Tigers improve to 16-11, 1-7 in conference play.
Saturday morning's first day in full pads for the Auburn Tigers only meant Gus Malzahn wanted the offense moving even faster.
