I don't want to read too much into the preseason, but the outlook doesn't look good for the New York Jets. If these first two preseason games are any indication of how the upcoming regular season is going to be, it's will be a long and disappointing season for the team and their fans. The Jets, who are probably the most over-hyped team we've seen in the NFL in quite sometime, have looked horrible so far, especially on offense. This is not surprising to me at all because when you look at the Jets team, it's really not that good of a roster to begin with. Whether it's QB Mark Sanchez or the backup Tim Tebow, it doesn't matter who is back behind center because the offensive line can't block anyone. The Jets' two opponents, the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants, have feasted on Jets quarterbacks. When Sanchez or Tebow do actually have time to throw, they haven't looked good doing it. The Jets haven't ran the ball effectively and they have no play makers to threaten defenses. I understand wide receiver Santonio Holmes is out with a rib injury, but even with him, it's not enough to put fear into opposing defenses. The Jets defense hasn't looked that bad, but their outlook doesn't look good if the offense doesn't get their act together. Overall, I think the Jets are an average team at best. All of the hype would tell you this team should be in the Super Bowl, but I see a team that will be around the 7-9 mark this year, 9-7 at best. I don't know where exactly they will finish in the AFC East this year, but I wouldn't be surprised if they finished last (yes, I think the Miami Dolphins could push to get out of the division basement). I want to stress I understand this is only two games into the preseason and there is a chance the Jets can fix their issues, but I just don't see it at this time. If head coach Rex Ryan can get this team into the playoffs, I'll be the first to say he should be the coach of the year. That's how confident I am the Jets will be average at best. This team did not make the playoffs last season and did very little to improve themselves. I know they added safeties LaRon Landry and Yeremiah Bell to the roster, but the defense wasn't the problem. The problems are on offense, and they're were no additions to speak of besides Tebow, who is a backup. Unless the Jets are able to fix their problems quickly, we'll be looking at the second straight season of no playoff football for a team that will win the publicity battle, but lose the more important battles on the field. Pizzeria cooks up Tebow birthday pizza

Tim Tebow's 25th birthday was, well, very much publicized. Anyone who turned on the TV this past Tuesday, particularly ESPN, found that out, as the Jets quarterback was the subject of plenty of discussion. Then again, that's not exactly a diversion from the norm. What is somewhat unique, however, is how one Alabama pizzeria decided to mark the occasion. Joe Carlucci, owner...

South Carolina passes “Tim Tebow Law”

As you’re no doubt aware, Tim Tebow was home-schooled in Florida, but lobbied lawmakers to allow him to play football with kids that attended public schools.  The state legislature acceded, and Tebow went on to become a high school and college legend.  Now, the legislature in South Carolina has done the same thing.  The new [...]

Tebow gets Jets and Jesus-themed birthday pizza

Tim Tebow easily might be the most heavily publicized back up quarterback in NFL history. The Jets off-season pick up had his 25th birthday August 14th, and a pizzeria in Alabama created an interesting pizza to commemorate the day: Joe Carlucci, owner of Famous Joe’s Pizzeria, is a huge Tebow and Jets fan. He decided [...]

Tim Tebow Angry At The N.Y. Jets Offensive Line

It's the preseason in the NFL, but according to Newark Star-Ledger New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow is angry at how is offensive line performed during their match-up against the New York Giants Saturday night. It's being reported that Tebow was sacked four times and hit a few times, which made him frustrated, which was seen by fans during the game. During the fourth...

New York Jets: Mark Sanchez Struggling

Mark Sanchez and the first-string offense for the New York Jets continued to struggle in a 26-3 loss to the New York Giants in the annual MetLife Bowl. The Jets have yet to score a touchdown in two complete preseason outings. Sanchez played the entire first half, throwing for 59 yards. Along with being sacked three times, Sanchez had no touchdowns and threw one costly interception...

The Bright Spot On a Dark Night

MetLife Stadium: Think positive won't you?Forget Mark Sanchez interception returned for a touchdown.  Make believe Wayne Hunter isn't the Jets right tackle.  Stop talking about how Tim Tebow led the team to three points against the Giants second team defense. The usually radiant Rex Ryan was dreary at the podium tonight, saying, "You can say there were some positive...

Tim Hasselbeck says Tim Tebow has made little improvement

Ugh. I’m utterly sick of seeing the New York Jets and Tim Tebow being covered far too much on ESPN, so I had to suck it up to throw together this piece. What a surprise, huh? Analyst and former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck says Tim Tebow has made little improvement. As if Hassy has any room to talk, but I digress. Reports out of Jets camp have said that Tebow has improved on...

Giants defensive tackle: Tim Tebow was very frustrated with the Jets offensive line

AP According to New York Giants defensive tackle Carlton Powell, Jets quarterback Tim Tebow looked very frustrated with his offensive line for their horrific play in Saturday night’s preseason loss to the Giants. “Obviously, we were getting after him a little bit,” said Powell, via The Star-Ledger. “And I guess they weren’t holding up their protection so some mistakes were...

Giants defensive tackle says Tim Tebow was frustrated with his offensive line

New York Jets: Offense is Vanilla with Sprinkles

The New York Jets' offense mustered just 148 net yards including 65 on the ground, five of which Tebow contributed to against the solid New York Giants' defense. Perhaps if Sanchez and Tebow had a little better protection at the line, they'd have the time they needed to make plays happen.  Mark Sanchez went 9-of-11 for 59 yards and took three sacks. TimTebow completed...

Joe Namath doesn't want Tim Tebow to succeed

Joe Namath is one of the most controversial characters in the history of the NFL. He kept that going tonight with this tweet as Tim Tebow got ready to take the field against the New York Giants. TEBO.TEBO'TEBO',,,,,,,,,,,just Kiddin — Joe Namath (@RealJoeNamath) August 19, 2012 Mark Sanchez had an interesting night against the Giants. The Jets weren...

Boomer Esiason doesn’t even believe Tim Tebow can be a back up quarterback

AP According to Michael Hiestand of USA Today, former Jets quarterback and CBS analyst Boomer Esiason has now come out and stated that he doesn’t believe Tim Tebow can even be an everyday back up quarterback in the NFL. “I don’t believe Tebow can be your everyday backup quarterback,” said Esiason. “Sanchez is clearly your starter, and (Greg) McElroy will be the backup....

Sloppy Jets get their hats handed to them

We know it’s just preseason game #2, but when you have your starters out there for a  half, you’re giving up sacks, you’re fumbling, you’re throwing pick six’s, something is wrong. Very wrong. The New York Giants spanked the Jets 26-3 to claim the title of Kings of New York, at least for the time being. Rookie Jayron Hosley turned an interception off of Sanchez for...
