IT'S TIME TO SAY ENOUGH!

Posted July 19, 2012

SOMETIMES you just need to say "ENOUGH". In this installment of the Cowboys 'Scandal of the Week' series, Emmitt Smith (in an attempt to "not pile on" to Dez Bryant's problems), issued what has to be the dumbest statement of 2012 since Jerry Sandusky admitted to showering with kids.

This is a direct quote:

“This is where people have to be patient with people like Dez or younger players. Everybody has to mature. Sometimes, some folks mature a lot quicker than others. I mean, that’s just something everybody has to be patient for. Just pray that the guy understands and gets it at some point. Because if he doesn’t, he’s definitely messing with his future and he’s messing with his ability to really connect with the fans.”

If Dez Bryant hasn't learned enough self-control not to hit his mother (IN HER OWN HOME) by now, he is NEVER going to learn it. This is, by the way, not just about him hitting his mother; it's about a pattern of behavior that as far as football fans know, extends back AT LEAST into college. This adult male (I cannot bring myself to call him a man) has had more than enough time to learn to obey the law and basic rules of decorum the rest of us abide by everyday.

At some point the word ENOUGH has to be said to him and a price extracted. At some point the excuses have to stop, and the compassion needs to be applied to more worthy people. Some of whom are desperate and hungry for even half the opportunity and goodwill this idiot continues to squander.

Sometimes you just need to say "Enough".

  • I don't care what the circumstances are. You never hit a woman. Especially your own mother. That's just low.
  • The "boy" needs help!! He's lower than dirt and should not be allowed to play until his serious issues are deemed "taken care of"....even tho' that may mean ~ we will never see him perform.
  • Sucker's Attorney at Law: In Dez defense the allege victim may have been negligent in her intent in the dismissal of xzibit A {A. Crack Pipe / B. Trash / C. Boy Friend. The altercation escalated when the accused tried to wrestle xzibit A from the allege victim who just happens to be his Mama Dearest. Both the allege victim and xzibit C are nothing but xzibit B
  • Inexcusable to abuse moms. At the same time, I think this is a potent wake up call, and believe he will turn himself into a more focused person and player. Then again, Dallas has never been a beacon of discipline. Incredible talent, hope he comes back the right way from this.
  • Id loved it if she had thumped him...right in the GONADS
  • Detroit just cut CB Aaron Berry after another arrest.

    Now if
1)no one picks him up for at least a year, and
2)a couple other guys find themselves out of the league, you'll start to see some people waking up. Not all but some. However BOTH things have to happen first.
  • IT'S TIME TO SAY ENOUGH.."THE SEQUEL"/Backup QB Vince Young had eagles fans in a frenzy when he uttered the words DREAM TEAM. And we know how that turned out. Coming into this season starting QB Michael Vick may have felt that Young's view of the team was somewhat of a stretch, and decided to lower expectations by saying.."Eagles team a Dynasty in the makings"? So whats next? Will rookie QB Nick Foles announce that he'll top the list on next year's NFL Top 100, or perhaps the League's MVP? And why stop there, why not SB MVP? a first ballot Hall of Famer? This is Professional Football guys, where nothing is a sure thing. Who predicted that the Giants would win last year's SB. Being a Pro is commendable, leave the Prognosticating to the commentators. Although you can't spell neither without the other. ENOUGH SAID!!
  • First: That's not remotely even the topic of this post.

Second: As the STARTING QB, Vick is exactly the right player to lay out such lofty expectations and I give him kudos for doing so.

Third: Barring the injury bug hitting us, the Eagles winning the NFC East is a MORTAL LOCK.
  • 5"11 185/ 5"8 175 / 5"9 180/ 5"8 190/Those measureables dont exactly strike fear,the injury bug wont be the only one's hitting them.
  • Sorry sucker, but I don't know who those numbers are supposed to be if you are implying they are stats of players on the Eagles roster, but here are some FACTUAL NUMBERS that you as a Cowboys fan should be concerned with. 2-0 and 54-14 In case you are wondering those numbers are the amount of times and the total score the Eagles defeated you favorite team by last season. So as a cowboys fan THOSE ARE THE "MEASURABLES" THAT SHOULD STRIKE ALL KINDS OF FEAR IN YOU AND YOU CAN ONLY HOPE THE "INJURY BUG" STRIKES THE EAGLES FOR THE COWBOYS TO HAVE ANY HOPE OF BEATING THEM. Now enough has been said.
  • Actually the FACTUAL NUMBERS that as a Cowboys fan concerned me, No! struck fear were #51 #56 #41 #25 #20. Sucker aint frighten no more. Now you talk some.
  • You should still be frightened sucker as none of those numbers get touchdowns. So instead of the Eagles getting 54
they might get 40, but the Cowboys still only get 14.
    Class dismissed.
  • Those numbers didn't prevent touchdowns!! But here are some FACTUAL NUMBERS that should concern you. Boys 5-3/Giants 4-1/ Redskins 3-2/ Eagles 0-2. SUMMER BREAK!!!
  • The only numbers that bother me there are the Giants 4-1 and do you know why? They happened this century and if you truly are a fan of your team that should bother you too. History lesson is over.
