JAKE GUENTZEL INVITED TO U.S. JUNIOR CAMP USA Hockey invited 40 forwards and defensemen to the National Junior Evaluation Camp taking place August 3-10, in Lake Placid, N.Y. On that list is Jake Guentzel, the Penguins 3rd round draft choice in the 2013 NHL Draft. Guentzel will have an opportunity for a spot on the U.S. National Junior Team. Guentzel was named the 2012-13 USHL Rookie of the Year and will enter the University Nebraska Omaha this Fall. PITTSBURGH AND WHEELING RENEW VOWS… ERRR AFFILIATION The Pittsburgh Penguins and Wheeling Nailers plan to stay together for the kids… Well, for one more season anyway. Wheeling and Pittsburgh have been affiliated for 15 seasons. The Nailers have been a great asset for player development for the Penguins, mainly because of the proximity to Pittsburgh. Pens scouts and coaching staff routinely communicate and make their way to Wheeling to develop prospects. The Nailers open up their schedule at home against the Elmira Jackals on Friday, October 18th. HOW BADLY DO YOU MISS THE IGLOO?
