With the Senators' rookie camp set to start this week, the organization received some disappointing news this afternoon.  UPDATE: Forward Jarrod Maidens has returned home after suffering fro recurring concussion symptoms. No timetable for return. #bestwishes — Owen Sound Attack (@AttackOHL) September 1, 2013 Every organization wants to see each of its prospects pan out and fulfill the projected potentials bestowed upon them by talent evaluators, but in the case of Jarrod Maidens, there is this unmistakable level of added hope.  By now, everyone should know his story -- Maidens hasn't played in a game since his November 30th, 2011, when he took an inadvertent knee to his head. Rather than come out of the game, Maidens continued to play and finished the game; whereafter, he suffered symptoms afterwards. It's been almost two years, since he played his last game. Maidens' progress has been well documented and with the announcement that he was named to the Senators' rookie tournament roster, there was optimism that he could get healthy and position himself so that his development gets back on track.  I can't even begin to fathom the level of frustration and disappointment that Maidens must have after suffering this setback. To this point, there have been no updates on the severity of his symptoms, but it's an instance like this that serves as a reminder we should be worried about Maidens' health foremost, before worrying about whether he can reward the Senators organization for taking a gamble on him in the third round of 2012 (82nd overall). Fortunately by sending him home, the Owen Sound Attack are looking out for Maidens' best interests here. I'll continue to post updates on the matter as more information becomes available...
