Found May 07, 2013 on The Other Paper:
Carolyn Moos, the former fiancee of Jason Collins, revealed last week she is planning on freezing her eggs — after she said the basketball star wasted eight years of her life lying to her about his sexuality. Moos said she always thought she would get married to Collins and have his children but these dreams were understandably shattered when he broke up with her in 2009 without a proper explanation. It was only last month, when he finally told her that he was gay, did she learn the real reason. Besides hoping to get financial backing to make a documentary of her In Vitro Fertilization procedure, the jilted Moos wants to write a book about journey with the once closeted NBA player. "I am in the process of making sense of my emotions and on a journey of healing ... about the recent news," the 34-year-old wrote on her website and e-mailed to journalists. "I will be writing a book and would like to reach out to you for quotes from pro athletes, coaches, relationships and topics include [sic] what it means to have a certain orientation and be a pro athlete ... This will just be one chapter ... but your input is highly appreciated." Moos revealed earlier this week that Collins still did not apologize for lying to her for eight years. So far, the 6-foot-5 personal trainer and former WNBA player hasn't had any offers for the $10,000 IVF procedure or the book. Never mind fifteen, it sounds like Moos is looking for her full thirty minutes of fame.

Shabazz Muhammad: The Perfect Fit For The Washington Wizards

Shabazz Muhammad is the perfect fit for the Washington Wizards roster, just as we believed he would be last winter. The Wizards and Muhammad have seemed to come full circle to meet again in the 2013 NBA Draft. In the beginning of 2012-2013 season the Washington Wizards started off with one of the worst records in NBA history without John Wall, and for the most part Nene. At that...

2nd Round Prospects That Should Be On The Wizards’ Radar

Please Adam Silver, don’t call any foreign names for the Wizards! The 2013 NBA Draft is not until June 27th, and while we won’t know for certain where the Wizards will be selecting in the first round until May 21st, we do know that the Wizards own the 37th and 54th overall picks. More times than not 2nd round draft selections are overlooked and don’t have much value in the...

A Week Later, And The Conversation Has... Stopped. For now.

Old Number 98 So a week or so after the Jason Collins announcement, the following thoughts. 1) There's around 2,500 active players in MLB, NBA and the NFL. By the commonly believed numbers for homosexuality, that means there are hundreds of closeted players, and even if you think that number is more like 1%, there's still dozens more. Note that no one else has followed...

Will Ernie Go Fishing in the European Pond…Again?

Ernie, please but that European bait away! The Washington Wizards had a successful second half of the season minus Bradley Beal’s injuries which eventually shut him down for the season. Can The Wizards Sign & Trade for Dwight Howard?

How would DC fans feel about Dwight Howard in a Wizards jersey? I had a crazy thought this morning. I must have been a dream or something.  And more than likely, it would only be a dream scenario. Anyone think the Wizards should pursue a sign and trade for Dwight Howard? It’s no secret that Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard aren’t the best of buds. I’m not sure what kind of...

Monday Random Questions with Mark Strotman and Senator Giggity

Random questions is back. I don't have a good name for the series outside of random questions. If you have an idea, please let me know and I'll put it to good use. If you aren't aware, this series is me asking people a handful of random questions that I think of at the time. That's pretty much it. Some are sports related. Most are not. This week I'm joined...
