James Harden's worst offensive performance for the Houston Rockets came last week against the Utah Jazz. His latest display wasn't much better, but a home-heavy stretch could be just what he needs. Harden tries to bounce back and lead the Rockets to a fifth straight home win Saturday night against the Jazz. Harden is among the NBA's scoring leaders at 24.5 points per game, but he mustered a season-low six points while going 1 for 6 from the floor in a 102-91 loss at Utah (9-8) on Nov. 19. He struggled again in his first road game since, missing 13 of 16 field goals as the Rockets fell 120-98 to Oklahoma City on Wednesday - hours after the team attended the funeral of coach Kevin McHale's daughter, Sasha, in Minneapolis. Harden, who finished with 17 points in his first game against his former team, has made just 30.3 percent of his shots while averaging 18.0 points during Houston's five-game road losing streak. Fortunately for the league's reigning Sixth...

POTD 12/1/12: James Harden on Gordon Hayward

For a wing player, Gordon Hayward is a pretty good shot blocker.  He averages a half swat per game for his career, which may not seem like much, but how many shooting guards send somebody packing once every other game?  In Saturday’s loss to the Rockets Hayward came up with his 12th denial of the young season, but his 13th would not come at the expense of #13… Admirable hustle...
ROCKET MAN

Harden posterizes Gordon Hayward

In his first season with the Houston Rockets, James Harden is averaging over 24 points per game as the primary offensive option. His new team may not be experiencing the same success as his old team, but James Harden has shown that he is as good as many believed. Just ask Gordon Hayward: It looked like Hayward was going to be able to chase down Harden for the block, but Harden somehow...

James Harden and Other Possible First Time All-Stars

James Harden- Houston Rockets - Well the Harden trade for Houston could not have gone better, as he is fifth in the league in scoring and he is now the star they have wanted since Yao retired. He is also averaging over four assists and rebounds per game, while leading his team to wins. Nobody thought that this team had a chance to make the playoffs, but at around .500 they have a...

HELLO, OLD FRIEND

Harden swatted from behind by Westbrook

James Harden had a rough game against his old team, the Oklahoma City Thunder. He shot poorly, and the Thunder showed that they’re still the dominant team, even without their former sixth-man. Russell Westbrook didn’t make Harden’s night any better with this awesome block from behind on one of Harden’s jumpers: I’m sure James Harden didn’t even know Russell Westbrook...

Rockets 124, Jazz 116

Patrick Patterson scored 20 points, Chandler Parsons and Jeremy Lin had 19 apiece and the Houston Rockets beat the Utah Jazz 124-116 on Saturday night. James Harden finished with 18 points for the Rockets, who shot 55 percent (46 of 83) and hit half of their 3-point shots at 11 of 22. Greg Smith and Carlos Delfino each scored 13. Gordon Hayward had 13 of his 21 points in the second...

Rockets hold off Jazz

HOUSTON -- The Houston Rockets and Utah Jazz levied blows at one another down the stretch of the third quarter at such a frenzied pace that there was no reason to believe a similar conclusion in the fourth period wasn't on tap. So, even after the Rockets extended to a double-digit lead on the strength of their bench, the Jazz clawed back. The Jazz responded to the Rockets...

Jazz-Thunder Preview

Led by the NBA's highest-scoring duo, the Oklahoma City Thunder look just fine despite trading the reigning Sixth Man of the Year. They'll try for their seventh win in eight games Friday night as they host the Utah Jazz, who look to continue their improvement on the road. The Thunder (12-4) cruised to their third straight victory Wednesday, defeating former teammate James...

Game Preview: Jazz @ Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder (12-4) look to get their seventh win in eight games as the Utah Jazz (9-7) come to town for a fantastic Friday night game. The Jazz have won five of their last six, including two of their last three on the road, but will need a near-perfect game to keep this one close. AccuScore, unfortunately for Jazz fans, isn’t expecting anything close to “near-perfect”...

Kevin Durant throws down nasty dunk on Paul Millsap (Video)

NBA Game Preview: Jazz @ Rockets

The Utah Jazz (9-8) travel to Houston tonight to face the Rockets (7-8) for the second time this season. The Rockets lost to the Jazz 102-92 on Nov. 19 in Utah. Harden didn’t have much of an impact the last time out, so look for him to bounce back as he tries to get Houston their fifth straight home win. AccuScore simulations (10,000) project a Rockets victory 74.1 percent of...
