Found May 01, 2013 on Crown Crazed:
On Monday night, the Royals broke their 2 game skid, winning 8-2 over the Tampa Bay Rays (I still want to say Devil). Batting 7th, Jeff Francouer had a nice game, going 2 for 4 with an RBI and a triple... and a celebratory tap of 3rd base coach Eddie Rodriguez's balls. The best part of this scene, Rodriguez doesn't looked shocked or upset... Instead, he has that "Damn'! You got me!" look on his face. I guess boys will always be boys!

There are plenty of ways to celebrate a nice hit in Major League Baseball and it appears that Kansas City Royals outfielder Jeff Francoeur has found a way to show some love to his third base coach. After getting a triple in the sixth inning against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night, Francoeur celebrated his hit by giving a love-tap to Royals third-base coach Eddie Rodriguez...

Why is the Jeff Francoeur Nut tap so Amusing?

by John Viril— Like everyone else who was watching the Royals 8-2 victory Tuesday against Tampa Bay, I saw Jeff Francoeur nut tap third base coach Eddie Rodriguez after hitting a triple. From the video, it appears as if Francoeur intended to poke him in the belly and missed—resulting in a wave of guffaws that has resounded among fans across the web. Yeah, sure it’s amusing...

Been down so long, it looks like up to the Royals

Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up to Me is a novel by Richard Farina. It could also be an anthem of sorts for long-suffering fans of the Kansas City Royals. The name of the protagonist in the novel is Gnossos Pappadopoulis -- which is fitting, here, in a Greek way, since one of the protagonists in the Royals clubhouse goes by the last name Moustakas. Mike Moustakas got off...

Brett gives Moose some surprising advice

KANSAS CITY, Mo. When slumping Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas got to Kauffman Stadium on Tuesday, he figured he would just go through his normal pregame routine of stretching, taking infield and batting practice all the while trying to keep his chin up. But then Moustakas got a surprise visit from Royals legend George Brett that not only changed his attitude, but may have...

Shields sharp as Royals beat Rays

James Shields made a stellar first start against his former team, and Mike Moustakas hit a two-run homer to spur the Kansas City Royals to an 8-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night. Shields (2-2) allowed a two-run homer to Matt Joyce in the first inning, but only allowed three more hits over the next six. He struck out seven in the kind of dominant performance that...

Santana, Royals go for sweep of the Rays

(AP) -- After their comeback win put them back atop the AL Central, the Kansas City Royals have to be feeling good about staying there behind right-hander Ervin Santana. The Royals send their hottest pitcher to the hill Thursday when they try for a three-game sweep and eighth win in nine home meetings against the road-weary Tampa Bay Rays. Kansas City (15-10) fell into a 5-0 hole...
