Jeffrey Bauman Jr. was one of the nearly 200 victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. The 27-year-old lost both of his legs in the attack. When he awoke in a hospital in Boston after undergoing surgery, Bauman had some crucial information to share with investigators.

Bauman’s brother, Chris, told the NY Post that Jeffrey asked for a pen and paper after waking up in his hospital bed. On the paper he wrote, “bag, saw the guy, looked right at me.” He then proceeded to give the feds a full description of a man who wore a cap and sunglasses that dropped a bag right at his feet. The description seemed to match that of 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who was killed in a shootout early Friday morning.

On Thursday, actor Bradley Cooper and New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman paid Bauman a visit at the hospital. Edelman posted the photo you see above with the following caption:

“Visited #survivor #stud #hero Jeffrey Bauman Jr. today. He was looking great and is a true inspiration. #strong”

The fact that Bauman was able to provide such useful information for authorities after losing his legs in the explosion is incredible.

  • Its always nice to see pro-athletes and celebrities, willing to take time and support people like this person who was extremely wounded in this terrible cowardly act! Its so important to remember that we all are #1. All of us need to support each other regardless of who we are. My prayers go out to this individual, and obviously to all the victims of this terible act.
  • These media seekers will do anything to get their names in press. All about self-promotion and that's it. They never show up until there's a camera around...media.
  • You have no way of knowing that. We all know that the cameras follow these celebrities around like vultures and almost everything they do is filmed. The point we should be focused on is that they put a smile on that young man's face :)
  • I agree that they are probably there for their own benefit, but the man IS smiling ear to ear. That is worth it right there no matter what the reason. Thank you you two!! More celebrities would be nice actually!!! Especially the ones who claim they are from the area!!! I thought we would have seen a lot more support from them being out there and doing more!!!!
  • WOW!!! You COMPLETELY missed the point of this story! Besides, when was the last time you saw Edelman's name in the news?? You my friend are an...idiot!!!
  • "The fact that Bauman was able to provide such useful information for authorities after losing his legs in the explosion is incredible."

Who writes like this? The man lost his legs not his mind! He would be able to tell authorities what he saw quite easily. Thank God he did! Great going Bradley and Julian!
