During his college career at the Washington State University, Chris Ivory played 3 seasons of football, collecting 91 rushes for 534 yards and 4 TDs. After a new coaching staff took over for the Cougars, Ivory found himself slipping down the depth chart. This would ultimately lead to off-the-field issues for Ivory, which would have him dismissed from Washington State. Chris Ivory was overlooked in the 2010 NFL Draft, going undrafted. Ivory managed to impress New Orleans scouts enough for the Saints to sign him as an undrafted free agent. After signing with the Saints, he continued to impress during training camp and preseason. This included a 76 yard TD reception in the preseason. Chris Ivory hasn’t really had a full season to prove himself in the NFL yet, since he has been involved in the Saints three and four back sets. During his rookie season in 2010, Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas went down with injuries. This would be Ivory’s only chance to shine. Ivory played in 12 gam...

Jets' Aboushi a rare Palestinian-American in NFL

The congratulatory messages flooded Oday Aboushi's Twitter page for a few days after he was drafted by the New York Jets two weeks ago. Many were happy to see the hometown kid from the New York borough of Staten Island starting his NFL career close to his family and friends. It was the other tweets, first dozens and then hundreds, from places such as Dubai and Saudi Arabia that...

Geno Smith could land with fired Jets GM's new agency

Geno Smith gave himself an "F" for failure after his first day in a New York Jets practice uniform last week. But now Gang Green's latest quarterback attraction might be getting an "A" for awkward if he chooses to hire Priority Sports — the current employer of recently fired Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum — as his agency. That same "F"...

Today, the New York Jets waived three including wide receiver Royce Pollard. Pollard played collegiately for Hawaii and excelled in the WAC totaling 154 receptions for over 2,100 yards. He went undrafted last season but was signed by the Jets in August of 2012. During the preseason he suffered an injury and was later cut. He was trying his second stint with the Jets but will look...

Ron Jaworski offered Tim Tebow backup QB job in Arena League

Tim Tebow may be short on interest from NFL teams at the moment, but at least he has plenty of other job offers. Ron Jaworski, a former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and current ESPN NFL analyst, says he offered Tebow a job to play for the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League. Jaws is one of the team’s co-owners. Jaworski told the Philadelphia Daily News that he and...

Rex Ryan Says Geno Smith Is No Diva With Jets

Geno Smith is in image repair mode right now, and part of that is showing football people that he is a hard worker and a leader. Smith had his first minicamp practice as the Jets quarterback yesterday, and wanted to let people he was working hard. Geno seems to have a fan in Jets head coach Rex Ryan. Smith was asked about reports regarding Smith being a diva, and according to Pro...

Does Tebow have Soul?

There’s been so much talk about Tim Tebow and his religious beliefs but maybe we’ll see soon how much soul he really has. Ron Jaworski of the AFL’s Philadelphia Soul has offered the “quarterback” a chance to play for the team. This isn’t the first AFL offer that Tebow has received but it could be the most intriguing. The Omaha Beef put an offer on the table for the...

Giants co-owner Steve Tisch: Going to the Jets didn’t help Tim Tebow’s career

TMZ caught up with New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch and asked him about Tim Tebow’s career. “I think him going from the Broncos to the Jets was not in anybody’s best interest,” Tisch said. “Had another team picked him up after the Broncos, maybe he’d have a career.” Tisch just stated the obvious. We all know the Jets didn’t help Tebow at all.  They never used...

Geno Smith adapts to a new offensive system

With first year offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg attempting to change the complexion of a spotty offense, Jets' rookie Geno Smith is working diligently to take command of a West Coast style system.

Tim Tebow's Biggest Supporters Are Ruining Him

As the man who compiles Football Nation's Top 100 Quarterbacks Since the Merger list, I'd be lying if I said Tebow was, at this time, qualified for the list. The No. 100 entry, Gus Frerotte, had a rather distinguished career as a journeyman backup, and was one of the best seventh round picks in recent memory.Tebow, to my way of thinking, hasn't quite done enough to surpass...

Geno Smith impresses Jets, bad news for Mark Sanchez

The Jets are apparently very impressed by rookie quarterback Geno Smith. Brian Costello of the New York Post went so far as to call some within the Jets organization "smitten" with Smith. That bit of news is great for Geno Smith, who could win the Jets' starting quarterback job over Mark Sanchez and David Garrard. If that happens, Garrard, barring injury, will likely...

Throwing the ball with ‘great zip,’ the ‘smitten’ Jets will likely make Geno Smith their starter

Contradicting reports that the maligned rookie is a diva, New York Post columnist Brian Costello says the Jets are “smitten” with Geno Smith and it’s “beginning to look more and more (likely)” he’ll start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 8. Noting there’s a “sense around the Jets that they want Smith to win this thing,” erratic chucker Mark Sanchez...

Bank Robber Wearing New York Jets Jersey Goes on Crime Spree in Manhattan, Hitting Five Banks in One Hour

The New York Jets have enough problems this summer to concern themselves with on the field. Unfortunately, Rex Ryan might have to be on the lookout for more than just a starting quarterback.
