Rex Ryan is unsure if he'll have star cornerback Darrelle Revis back in the New York Jets' secondary when the team plays at Miami on Sunday.
Ryan says Monday that he doesn't think ''you can assume'' Revis will be ready to go against the Dolphins after suffering what the Jets called a ''mild concussion'' in the season opener against Buffalo. Revis sat out the Jets' 27-10 loss to the Steelers after he was not cleared for contact before the team traveled to Pittsburgh.
Ryan says Revis must pass the required tests, but adds that he ''looks to be doing well, so hopefully he will be playing.''
The Jets coach had no immediate injury updates on fullback John Conner (right knee), tight end Dustin Keller (hamstring) or linebacker Bryan Thomas (hamstring).

Skinny Rex Ryan rocks curious T-shirt
Rex Ryan has dropped over 100 pounds thanks to successful lap band surgery, so he decided to show off his new svelte physique with an hilarious “I’d Hit That” t-shirt while getting photographed standing next to a very cute blonde. His teeth look stunningly white as well, but that’s probably less a product of having them whitened, and more to the fact that they aren’t...

Giants defensive end Justin Tuck doesn't seem concerned about the prospect of Tim Tebow and the Jets running plays out of the Wildcat in the teams' preseason matchup.
You’re Still Gross, Rex
I don’t care how many procedures you have done to shrink your stomach. No matter what hipster chain or Abercombie and Fitch t-shirt. You’re still a gross and vile person, Rex.
PS – If you meet Rex Ryan you definitely ask him to sign your feet, right?
Rex Ryan: Quinton Coples As Good As Pierre-Paul?
Stop me if you have heard this one before. New York Jets coach Rex Ryan is again spouting off at the mouth.
There were no promises of Super Bowls even before he knew who would be on his team. There are no comments about him being the best defensive coach in the NFL. No, this time he is comparing one of the great young defensive players in the league to someone whose draft stock...
Jets S Eric Smith 'day-to-day' with sprained knee
Coach Rex Ryan says safety Eric Smith is ''day-to-day'' with a sprained knee ligament, and doesn't anticipate the New York Jets signing a veteran at the position to offset Smith's absence.
Smith sprained the medial collateral ligament in his left knee Friday night in the preseason opener at Cincinnati. He also injured his hip, but tests showed no damage....

Last night in the New york Jets home opener, Safety Eric Smith injured his hip as well as his surgically repaired left knee in Friday night’s 17-6 loss to the Cincinatti Bengals. However the Jets all-purpose Safety did’nt seem too concerned about his injury telling reporters “I don’t think it’s too serious.” He was injured while covering a punt in the second quarter...
Marvin Lewis asked Rex Ryan to not run the wildcat
AP Photo
Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis and Jets head coach Rex Ryan know one another from their days with the Ravens.
Lewis called Ryan on Friday morning to ask him to not use the wildcat during last night’s game. I’m not sure if Lewis made the request because quarterback Tim Tebow had a rushing touchdown in Cincinnati two years ago when he was with the Broncos...
The New York Jets to sign Barnum and Bailey
Here we go once again. It’s preseason, 31 teams are preparing for the upcoming season, and then there is the New York Jets preparing to take their three-ring circus show on the road. The only thing missing so far this off-season is another one of those ridiculous Rex Ryan guarantees and the New York Jets signing Barnum and Bailey.
This whole fiasco started with the signing...
Jets DE Quinton Coples Impresses Rex Ryan In Debut
In the Jets' preseason opener against the Cincinnati Bengals, Quinton Coples came off the bench to post five tackles, including two for a loss, picked up a strip-sack of quarterback Zac Robinson and also defended a pass. Offensive Line Fantasy Value of the New York Jets
The Jets love the spotlight and even when brash Coach Rex Ryan decides he will tone down his boastfulness, the franchise still finds a way to polarize the viewing public. Their Quarterback situation is akin to that of Arizona’s, they have endured bickering and infighting as well as players calling out other players in the media. Add all that to the fact that the Jets have...
I Miss Crazy Coaches: Six Random NFL Strategies I Wish Someone Would Try

Rather, I want the guy who tries off the wall stuff, throws in trick plays you haven't seen before, always has a fake punt up his...
