According to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York, the Jets will attempt to ”shop” Tim Tebow at this week’s Scouting Combine.
Cimini adds that they can’t officially trade Tebow until March 12, so it would make sense to see them aggressively pursue a trade in the next few weeks.
Cimini ultimately believes “no one will bite” and they will end up cutting him loose before the start of free agency.
There hasn’t been a lot of buzz surrounding Tebow since the 2012 season concluded. While the Jets would like to secure some amount of value in return for him, it’s more likely that they’ll be forced to cut him loose. Tebow has a better chance of finding interest from prospective teams as a free agent than on the trading block, but it will be interesting to see if ask him to change positions next year or if they would be willing to bring him in as a quarterback.
Peter King mentioned that the CFL could be a good option for Tebow, as it would allow him to play in an option style offense. King admits that Tebow’s inaccuracy may end up being an issue, even for CFL teams.
