According to Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post, the Jets may have a hard time securing “fair value” for DB Darrelle Revis if they do fielding trade offers for him this offseason.  GM John Idzik and HC Rex Ryan both downplayed the idea that Revis was on the trading block, but neither one of them denied that he could be available. Hubbuch adds that the salary cap could be the biggest obstacle in any trade scenario, as NFL teams will have to lockup Revis to a long-term extension and still fit that into their current cap situation. Revis is clearly an amazing talent, but it’s hard to part with a package of high draft picks and be forced to commit big money to a guy who now has plenty of leverage given that they would have already parted with draft picks for him. “I’m not sure if we’ll see a ton of teams going out and doing a whole lot right away (via free agency or trade),” Seahawks GM John Schneider said. “I know (Revis is) a great player, but I don’t know how that would work.“ Add in the fact that Revis suffered a torn ACL in 2012 and it’s hard to imagine the securing “fair value” for one of the game’s best defensive backs.
