Curtis Martin was decked out in a Jets green tie and shoes, looking sharp as ever on another big day for the Hall of Fame running back. The Jets were set to retire his No. 28 jersey at halftime of New York's season-opening game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Martin, inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame last month, will join three of the biggest names in franchise history - Joe Namath (No. 12), Don Maynard (13) and Joe Klecko (73) - as the only players to receive the prestigious honor. ''Words can't express it,'' a smiling Martin said before the game. ''I almost feel just like the Hall of Fame. There's a part of this that's almost even bigger than the Hall of Fame because it's the hometown, the crowd I played in front of for all these years.'' The whole idea had Martin pretty excited, something he said usually wouldn't happen for him until he ran out of the tunnel before a game. He'll also receive his Hall o...

Jets Fan Punches Woman Wearing Bills Jersey in Stands at New York-Buffalo Game (Video)

The Jets' 48-24 thumping of the Bills on Sunday left much to be desired. The Jets and Bills fans going at it in the stands? Now, that's more like it. Some New York and Buffalo rooters got into it during Sunday's game as Bills fans were finding their way to their seats. Shoving soon ensued, and the melee continued innocently enough until a presumed Jets fan (he wasn'...

Stephen Hill is the real deal

How excited are you about the play of rookie WR Stephen Hill?  A lot of people were starting to worry about his catching ability as well as the entire offense in pre-season.  The key here is it was PRESEASON.  Was Hill nervous for his first game, of course, but I think in the end we can say that Jets fans are excited he is on our team. Like I said before and many times...

New York Jets: Rex Ryan Given The Dreaded Vote Of Confidence

By Jeffrey Beall A couple of days ago, New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes came out and stated that quarterback Mark Sanchez was rattled when Tim Tebow was acquired in the offseason. Get ready for an entirely different New York Jets offense

Going into preseason, there were certain expectations for the New York Jets’ offense. The word “circus” was ever-present in the media. Were there circus-like elements? Sure, but a lot of it was media-hyped. Mostly, it was long stretches of boredom interrupted by brief moments of stupid mistakes. Infamously scoring just one touchdown throughout the entire [...]

The Best of the first Sunday in the NFL

The first week of the NFL always brings about surprises.  The pre season is to find out who’s going to make your team and not necessarily how you use your playbook.  That was apparent when the Jets demolished the Bills at Met Life Stadium yesterday.  New York really didn’t surprise Buffalo with the “Tebown Offense” but did catch them off guard when Joe Namath showed up...
