TEAMS: Brown Bears
College sports is full of all kinds of wacky, offbeat traditions that make everyone rethink their college choices. John Brown University in Arkansas has one such tradition that actually has basketball-related consequences. When John Brown opens their home basketball slate, it is tradition that when the first basket is scored fans respond by hurling thousands of rolls of toilet paper onto the court while the event staff blares music. Besides making a mess, JBU also takes a technical foul -- but two free throws hardly seem to matter in the grand scheme of things. This season, the Saints took on Hillside Free Will Baptist College for the sixth-consecutive year and the 24th in the history of the tradition. Guard Abel Galliguez nailed a three-pointer 34 seconds into the game and the insanity ensued. Check out the video below. Thumbnail Photo via YouTube/EspmSport
