The return of college football rightfully grabbed big headlines over the weekend.  Alabama hammered Michigan.  Oklahoma State ran up an 84-0 win over St. Mary’s of the Blind Savannah State.  And Michigan State ended Boise State’s BCS hopes.  But known of those headlines are as big as what took place in Enola, Pennsylvania.

John Taylor, aka “House”, took the field for the Central Penn Piranha in the Gridiron Developmental Football League playoffs.  ”House” isn’t named house just because he’s larger than most.  He’s larger than everyone.  Shaq had a baby with a Tyrannosaurus rex and out popped John Taylor.  At 6’11″, 500 pounds (checked and re-checked for typos), Taylor is believed to be the largest football player ever.  Because he’s 35 years old and extremely massive, Taylor hasn’t seen the field often since starting to play with the Piranha.

But on Saturday, he got some game action.  The result: a 3.5 on the Richter scale.
