Found January 18, 2012 on Busted Racquet:
John Isner was a 10-year-old living in Greensboro, N.C., when the Carolina Panthers franchise was created. He's been a fan ever since. The giant of American tennis, and the sport's resident marathon expert, has had star receiver Steve Smith watch matches from his player's box and has visited the team's training camp. So it was only natural that when Isner won his first Grand Slam match since the start of last football season, he'd pay homage to the team's sensational rookie quarterback, Cam Newton. After defeating David Nalbandian 4-6, 6-3, 2-6, 7-6, 10-8 in a controversial second-round match in the Australian Open, Isner jogged to the middle of the court, turned to fans and performed Newton's signature touchdown dance, a take on Clark Kent revealing his Superman outfit. Isner will play No. 18 seed Feliciano Lopez on Friday. If he's smart, the Chilean will back some Kryptonite in his tennis bag, just in case.

Video: John Isner picks his nose during match

Over the weekend, John Isner had to reach deep within himself to find confidence. Without confidence, you can’t win in the world of sports. That is especially true with a sport like tennis. You can’t rely on your teammates. There are none. It’s all up to you to become the victor. In his first-round Australian Open match against Benjamin Mitchell over the weekend, Isner...

Isner wins drama-filled five-setter

To the delight of the host nation, Queensland teenager Bernard Tomic put Sam Querrey's recovery on hold by beating the American 3-6, 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 but one can't get rid of John Isner that easily. The Marathon Man did not quite need the 11 hours he took to beat Nicolas Mahut at Wimbledon in 2010 but four and a half seemed quite long enough by the time Isner rode his luck...

Nalbandian fumes over contentious call in loss

John Isner's latest five-set, marathon win was overshadowed by David Nalbandian's outrage at a controversial call. The towering American rallied from a two-sets-to-one deficit to beat Argentine David Nalbandian 4-6, 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (5), 10-8 in a second-round match at the Australian Open that lasted for 4 hours, 41 minutes Wednesday, including a 99-minute deciding set. Nalby Righteously Angry (Video)

A furious Nalbandian threw his racquet after losing to John Isner, 4-6, 6-3, 2-6, 7-6(5), 10-8. Don’t let that title fool you; he didn’t hit a photographer, but he sure was royally pissed off. His anger stemmed from a horrible call by Kader Nouni earlier in the match. Kader overruled a ball as in that Isner had hit out, and then refused to let Nably challenge (you can see the...

Mahut...

Arizona Cardinals: Most Pressing Offseason Needs

The Arizona Cardinals had an up and down season this year. After beating Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers in the first game of the season, the Cardinals would lose the next six in a row, three of those losses came by four points or less.
