Jeff Gordon may have had the best car out of the Hendrick Motorsports stable for the FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Dover (Del.) International Speedway on Sunday, but it was teammate Jimmie Johnson who dominated the race en route to his second win of the season. “I think that No. 24 (Gordon) was the car to beat,” Johnson said in victory lane. Even so, Johnson led 289 laps of the 400 that made up the race, including the last 76 and claimed victory. “It was a team effort,” Johnson said. Gordon, meanwhile, was relegated to a 13th-place finish. “We had the best car today, but it was unfortunate,” Gordon said. “We put ourselves in this position.” That position came as a result of a loose wheel that Gordon had to make an unscheduled green flag pit stop for on lap 251.
