Daniel Cormier desperately wants to become famous and he’s trying to use reigning UFC light heavyweight king Jon Jones (pictured) in his plight – so says Jones. Cormier has a long way to go until he reaches Brad Pitt status, or even Jon Jones status – so says “Bones.” “DC is a guy who really wants to get famous,” Jones shared with a group of reporters following Tuesday’s UFC World Tour in Los Angeles. “I don’t think he wants to work hard, I just think he wants to be famous. You can see it in his physique, you can see it in his cardio … he’s just trying to get his Twitter followers up. “He has like 20,000 Twitter followers.” At the time of publication, @dc_mma actually had 57,518 followers. That number pales in comparison to Jones’ 678,173 followers. (Speaking of awesome people on Twitter, have you followed @5thRound yet? We’re nowhere near Daniel Cormier-famous, but definitely worth a follow ) Cormier will enter his final heavyweight affair when he battles bitter rival Roy Nelson at UFC 166. After the October shootout, a victorious Cormier intends to ask UFC brass to leapfrog the light heavyweight line for an immediate shot at Jones’ title. Jones didn’t appear the least bit fazed with being called out by Cormier. “I hate answering questions about him. He’s just not relevant to me,” Jones matter-of-factly stated. “There’s so many great fighters in the light heavyweight division. He’s not even top five in his division, I’m not sure he is. “He has short reach, bad cardio. He looked terrible in his last fight. It’s like, I’m not worried about him at all.” Jones also wasn’t too worried about Cormier when they had their reported run-in at the MMA Awards a little while back. In fact, Jones claims he didn’t even know who the former Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix champion was when the incident occurred. “He had an altercation with me,” Jones said. “I didn’t even know who him or his friend was at the time. Obviously, they’re doing interviews about it, it was a bigger deal to them than it was to me. That it ever will be to me.” In the meantime, Jones is fully focused on UFC 165 where he’ll be defending his throne against Alexander Gustafsson.

Jon “Bones” Jones Says Move to Heavyweight Division Will Happen Soon

Jon Jones is considered the best MMA fighter in the world and for the Light Heavyweight champ a new challenge may be on the horizon. Jon told MMAJunkie.com that he will soon make the jump to the Heavyweight division. He had this to say during his sit down with the site: “Oh, eventually.” “I’m getting older, I’m growing, and I’m getting stronger. Why not? Yeah, for sure...

Lyoto Machida feels Glover Teixeira is the one to beat Jon Jones.

Father time loses to no man, but Jon Jones probably has a good decade of fighting left in him. Maybe longer  if he doesn’t move to heavyweight. I can’t imagine many people at 205 could beat him. Maybe Lyoto in a rematch, but that’s a big maybe. Glover Teixeira on the other hand… He is one legitimately interesting contender. With all of this said, watch Gustaffson do something...
