MLB Injury News:
Left-hander Jorge De La Rosa
has a “strong chance” of making
his season debut for the Colorado Rockies this week, reports Troy Renck
“There’s a strong chance he
will start for us, but I don’t know when until I hear from the training staff,”
manager Jim Tracy said Sunday.
De La Rosa last appeared for the Rockies on May 24 of
2011. His season ended after he
underwent elbow surgery.
The 31-year-old has been rehabbing in the minors, as he’s
made seven starts between four levels of the Rockies’ farm system. Over 20 1/3 innings pitched, De La Rosa has
maintained an ERA and WHIP of 6.64 and 1.770.
De La Rosa is making $10 million this season and his
contract includes an $11 million player option for 2013. His health and productivity could play a
large role in determining the Rockies’ success next year. Over four seasons with the Rockies he’s
maintained an ERA and WHIP of 4.38 and 1.362.

Adam Ottavino may have hit his wall on Sunday. If it's been said once, it's been said 1000 times. The Colorado Rockies pitching theory simply doesn't work.It might work in one particular game. It might work over the course of a week, but the reality is, it simply doesn't work over the course of a season.Maybe the Rockies deserve credit for thinking outside of tradition...

The misery of 2012 is almost over for Rockies fans. For those still paying attention, for those not completely engrossed by the Denver Broncos season of hope, Colorado Rockies fans continue to suffer. The only thing worse than a season in which the Rockies are trying desperately to not lose more than 95 games is having to deal with late-season games in San Francisco. The Rockies lost...
Left-hander Jorge De La Rosa threw a bullpen session Monday before the Colorado Rockies' 2-1 loss at San Francisco. It was the Rockies' third straight loss, all by one run, on their current trip and their 11th loss in the last 14 games. The Rockies are 30 games below .500 and 25 1/2 games out of first place, both season-worst figures. For the first time this year, De La...
