The Angels held the obligatory Josh Hamilton press conference this afternoon to announce the five-year, $125 million deal the outfielder has signed with the team. Meanwhile, it was Josh’s wife, Katie, who stole the show by telling media that, in no uncertain terms, the Rangers should’ve put a ring on it.
According to the Dallas Morning News:
“They let us go out and date other people and kind of give our hearts away,” Katie Hamilton said. “I’m so glad they didn’t (try to re-sign Hamilton.) We feel so strongly this is where God has moved us and planted us.”
Ahh, yes, God wanted the couple to take the biggest offer on the table. Of course God did. Rarely do athletes take less money in free agency because God told the player to give a team a discount.
Anyway, back in early November, the Rangers offered one-year, $13.3 million. Hamilton was looking for seven years and $175 million.
At least God helped find a team willing to pay $125 million guaranteed to a guy who’s less than a year removed from allegedly getting drunk and having sex with a woman who wasn’t Katie in a Texas bar.
Ahh, yes, it’s great that God stepped in and punished those mean Rangers.
Housewife of Orange County? I think so.
