Greg Mathis, the witty and charismatic television personality who has been the presiding judge on the “Judge Mathis” show for 14 seasons, will celebrate Black History Month by taking a look back at the records made and barriers broken during the 2012 Summer Olympics. Judge Mathis will recall such moments as Gabby Douglas becoming the first African-American gymnast to win an individual all around gold, and the women’s 4×100 team that won gold in world record fashion. No one could forget the 16-year-old prodigy Gabby Douglas. Like many young African-Americans, Gabby faced much adversity, but her perseverance and determination kept her going. She went on to be the first African-American gymnast to win individual all around gold. ,Allyson Felix, Tianna Madison and Bianca Knight are powerhouse track and field stars who made America proud. Not only did they win the first gold medal in the 4X100 meter relay since 1996, they also broke a world record. These young women remind us of one of the best and most decorated athletes in the world, Jackie Joyner-Kersee… Jackie, Carmelita, Allyson, Tianna and Bianca– making black history happen. This special, although a break from the normal courtroom drama we’ve grown to expect and love, guarantees to be a good one. Visit judgemathistv.com to find out where the show will air in your area.
