After selecting offensive lineman Justin Pugh in the first round of this past April’s draft, New York Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride made it clear this offseason that he’ll have a chance to start right away.
“We added some young blood that can come in and look like they have the skill set to be able to play and contribute down the road,” Gilbride said, via ESPNNewYork.com. “There is no question, we needed an infusion of talent at that spot -– young talent that would be able to come in and eventually assume starting roles. How soon that will be remains to be seen.”
The Giants are never in a rush to start a rookie. I believe David Diehl will hold off Pugh for now, but the right tackle spot will certainly be his in 2014.

The Giants in the offseason feel they upgraded at defensive tackle, but at the linebacker position, the second line of defense continues to be a weakness against passing offenses that attack the middle of the field.
There are a few questions marks dangling, 'Can Aaron Curry get his once promising career back on track?'

Say what you will about Peyton and Eli Manning. Call them boring, call them mechanical, call them dopey, call them dull. Call them whatever you want. But the guys know how to sell a product.
The quarterbacks are among the most popular pitchmen in sports, and their commercials, filmed both together and separately, have become some of the most talked-about spots on TV.
New York Giants safety Stevie Brown made 11 starts in 2012 as a replacement for the injured Kenny Phillips.
He picked off eight passes in limited duty and with the departure of Phillips, he feels the starters job is his and it’s up to him to keep it that way.
The team rewarded his play by giving him one-year tender worth $2.023 million, and an opportunity to grab a firm hold...
Defensive end Adrian Tracey was selected in the sixth round (184th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Giants and played his college football at William & Mary.
In past years it would be a struggle to crack the team’s defensive line rotation, but with the defections of key veterans and current pass rushing demon Jason Pierre Paul recovering from surgery, Tracey faces...

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk plays devil’s advocate and points how guaranteed money could be an issue for the New York Giants in signing their first-round pick offensive lineman Just Pugh.

When the not guilty verdict was read for George Zimmerman in his murder trial there was one thing that could be counted on to happen next--people would be outraged. Many wasted no time taking to one social media channel or another to voice their opinions.
New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz was one of those people. His tweet held a pretty grim prediction for what could...
New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz has apologized for a message he sent on Twitter in the wake of the verdict in the George Zimmerman trial.

The interwebs, and specifically Twitter just absolutely blew up tonight after the verdict in the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin trial was released. Zimmerman was found not guilty on all charges which created quite the uproar. While not surprising to me, because... well... Florida.... apparently a lot of folks were shocked by the outcome and understandably upset.

After a gruesome knee injury suffered during OTAs in May, Giants' fullback Henry Hynoski is ahead of his rehab schedule and could make a return to the field as early as Week 1 when New York travels to Dallas for its regular season opener.
While he's not expected to see many snaps playing behind two-time Super Bowl Champion Eli Manning, rookie quarterback Ryan Nassib's situation with the Giants could be a true blessing in disguise for the young signal-caller.
