While he was in the AHL, Ottawa Senators forward Kaspars Daugavins successfully completed this move. But, when he finally attempted it in the NHL, Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask made the unreal save to keep Daugavins crazy shootout move out of the net. Rask barely kept that out, I can’t believe the athleticism he displayed to keep that puck out. The Bruins would go on to winner it with their next shooter, but Daugavins shootout move took some serious guts to try. To be able to control the puck down the ice and then do a spin move with the toe of your stick the only part of your stick touching the puck is absurd. It requires superb strength and stickhandling ability, let alone the fact the pressure that he is facing when attempting the move. If he had completed the move his shootout move would have lived on in highlights for eternity. [YouTube]
