Super model Kate Upton wanted to let everyone know during the Detroit Tigers home opener that she had been cuddling with her favorite Tiger.
Does that mean that Upton and rumored romance Justin Verlander are back together? Hardly.
In fact Upton was referring to a real tiger.

After the Detroit Tigers' short-lived and frightening (if you're a Tigers fan at least) experiment with the closer by committee approach, the team went out and signed Jose Valverde. Papa Grande will likely eventually be added to the 25-man roster, but for now the deal is of the minor league variety.
Jose Valverde has signed a minor-league contract w/ the Tigers.
DETROIT -- Prince Fielder will get the headlines and highlights for his two home runs, but the Tigers had an unsung hero Friday.
Drew Smyly struck out five and didn't allow a hit in the 8-3 win over the New York Yankees, pitching four scoreless innings for his first major-league save.
"I didn't even realize it until someone told me after the game," Smyly said...
A 3-game series has come and gone for the Detroit Tigers. And in classic Motor City fashion, fans are abuzz over what they just saw. Losing 2 of 3 to the measly Twins simply shouldn’t happen.
Questions that have already arisen from a fairly insignificant series in early April include:
Will the Tigers stink on the road again, thus preventing them from pulling away...
Now that was a Hope Opener.
Like most of you, I surmise, I came into baseball consciousness well before the internet, streaming scores and instant updates. Growing up in Arlington, the only way I could get Tigers scores was to maybe catch a glimpse on the evening news (if I was allowed to stay up that late), or hopefully catch the “out of town scores” during the Rangers radio...
Prince Field jacked his first home run of the year and the ball decided to knock a fan out cold trying to catch it.
DETROIT What do you give a pitcher who has tormented you for nearly two decades on his last scheduled visit to your stadium?
An autographed bat with a hole the size of the ball drilled into the sweet spot?
Perhaps a videotape of the only two postseason series he played against Detroit? No, that would be in poor taste, since the Tigers beat the New York Yankees convincingly in...
Miguel Cabrera had more hits Saturday than he did over the first four games of the season combined.
His teammates were pretty good, too.
Cabrera drove in one of four runs in the fifth inning on a 4-for-4 day and the Detroit Tigers beat the New York Yankees 8-4 Saturday.
Prince Fielder, one of six Tigers to drive in a run, had two RBI one day after a two-homer, five-RBI performance...
DETROIT (AP) -- Miguel Cabrera drove in one of four runs in the fifth inning on a 4-for-4 day and the Detroit Tigers beat the New York Yankees 8-4 Saturday. Max Scherzer (1-0) gave up four runs in five-plus innings to pick up the win in a shaky start, his first of the season. Phil Hughes (0-1) allowed four runs -- three earned -- on eight hits in four-plus innings on a day...
Prince Fielder figured a few hits were about to come his way.
Fielder connected for a go-ahead, three-run homer in the fifth inning and added a soaring, two-run shot in the seventh to lift the Detroit Tigers to an 8-3 win over the New York Yankees on Friday.
He hit his first two home runs of the season before a crowd of 45,051, the most to attend an opening-day game in the 14 years...
Well…..in baseball it’s amazing how things seldom go as expected. Or history repeats itself.
The Detroit Tigers dropped two of three in Minnesota against a supposedly downtrodden and hopeless Minnesota Twins team to open the 2013 baseball season. Some of their struggles surprised very few, but some were probably not expected.
For those in the “history repeats itself” camp...
Nova struggled in 4.2 innings, giving up 4.
New York Yankees 3 — Detroit Tigers 8
Prince Fielder drove in five with two home runs in today’s 8-3 loss to the Detroit Tigers.
Ivan Nova got his first start of the season and struggled throughout his 4.2 innings. Nova struggled with first pitch strikes and efficient use of his pitches as he would leave with 96 pitches. In the...
